Affirming the state of Israel to remain

Introduction

In 1948, the nation of Israel was established following 2000 years if independence from the face of the planet. The nation’s establishment, however, is surrounded by controversy, and the circumstances of its formation are still reflecting in the conflict with Palestine in the present age. On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion, the chairman of the Jewish Agency in Tel Aviv, declared that Israel was now an independent nation. Within the moment of the declaration, fighting commenced between the Arabs and the Jews. The Arabs were disgruntled with what they thought the annexation of their rightful territory while the Jews fought to preserve what they thought was their ancestral land. Britain, which was the authority over the area, withdrew at the time, and chaos ensued in the new nation. Egypt joined in the fight making the issue escalate into a full-blown conflict that pitted world powers against each with those supporting the new country and those that did not.

Israel being state was a unanimous decision of the United Nations after the influx of the Jews into Palestine led to open fighting between the Jews and the Arabs. The united nations recommend the creation of the country granting more than half of Palestine when the Jews were less than half of the entire population. Even with the ongoing fight in the Gaza strip, there are still proponents who support the existence of Israel as a nation putting pressure on Palestine to recognize Israel as an independent nation.  The reasons range from political sentiments to religious beliefs. The paper, therefore, discusses the affirmation of the state of Israel to remain.

Anti-Semitism

Support for the creation of Israel as a state goes way back even before the Second World War, where millions of Jews were persecuted by the Nazi regime led by Adolf Hitler. Anti-Semitism is so old that the Bible can even record some of the hated of the people in the Bible against the Jews. Jews have suffered discrimination for a long time, and history cannot pretend to assume that Jews have been constant targets wherever they are. The height of the discrimination came in the Second World War when Adolf Hitler made his responsibility to kill all the Jews that he found across the lands that he conquered during the Second World War. The reason for the persecution was mainly because Jews were settled in Germany and made progress economically. To cleanse Germany, the Jews have to be dealt with as they were the reason for the problems that the Germans sufferer. Hitler called it ‘the final solution to the Jewish question.’ Over six million Jews were killed in Germany alone, with many more displaced from the places they had lived all along. As such, there is a tangible reason to have a nation of Jews so that they can live in relative peace to avoid discrimination in other places.

In the modern world, anti-Semitism is still prevalent in nations across the globe. Whenever there are Jews, the situation is always tensed. It is never to understand why Jews are hated across the world, but the reason is that they are still minorities in the places they stay. It is, therefore, of importance to maintain the nation of Israel so that there is no discrimination on the basis that they are minorities. Israel is exclusively a Jewish nation that the Jews can call home. Without Israel, Jews will have to endure the minority tag wherever they are, which does not auger for their security as well as the safety of the people they conflict with. The hatred informed the creation of Israel by the united nation carving it from Palestine that the people had for Jews, and it is only prudent that they have a country of their own to help stop the animosity between Jews and other people in the places they can never be accepted. Based on the current levels of anti-Semitism in the world as well as other intolerances related to race, Israel, and a permanent state, which the Jews can call home.

Going back in history, it is difficult not to support the continued stay of jews in any other country apart from a state established for the Jews themselves. The event leading to the creation of Israel as a nation point to the very need to have the state of Israel. After the withdrawal of  Britain and the announcement that Israel was now an independent nation, Jews wherever they were faced with fresh persecution. In Germany, as well as many other countries across Europe. In Germany, Jews saw their citizenship revoked, meaning they were strangers, and they had to find new homes. At the same time, they were denied the right to their property as they had to leave everything behind. Jews, therefore, found themselves homeless and without capital that had taken them ages to accumulate. In their original homeland, Palestine would not recognize them, making Jews people without a home. Israel, as a nation, therefore, helps to have Jews a house where all the others scattered across the world can run to when they have issues where they are. The only solution is to maintain Israel as a nation.

Historical backing

The claim to have Israel as a nation is backed by factual evidence that the place is indeed the birthplace for the Jews. Palestine is originally the birthplace of the Jews, according to all historical accounts dating back to the biblical era. However, displacement with time due to invasion and the dispersal of the Jews in nations across the world. Periods of continued conflict meant that Jews were scattered across Palestine, and some moved into Europe to look for places to settle. From the biblical accounts, Israel was an established nation with kings so powerful that the reach was almost global. However, due to leadership issues, the land was conquered by a series of invaders who ruled the area in turns. After the reign of King Solomon, Israel was under the Persians, the Greeks, Egyptians, Seljuk Turks, Islamists, and even crusaders. Modern-day Israel, therefore, was conquered by a different power, and historical evidence shows that the rennet Palestine is the homeland for the Jews.

After the rule of the Ottoman Turks occasioned by the collapse of the power, there was a clamor to create the nation of Israel. The reason to develop Israel at the time was informed by the historical evidence that Palestine was indeed the nation belonging to the Israelites. As such, it is based on this historical evidence that the state of Israel has legitimacy. It is, without a doubt, that Israel hs right to the territory in Palestine as recognized by most of the world power. The recognition is not based on the political basis but historical evidence that Israel was initial state only taken apart by the action of power intrigue with its affairs. The Balfour declaration recognizes the existence of Israel as a nation standing with anger most of the Arabs leaders, leading to the conflict that exists up to the present day. The problem with the settlement of Israelites in the home is they spend away in exile such that their land was taken away from them. Historical evidence favors the state of Israel, and it only new political and religious considerations, which have impacted on the Israelite nation.

Historical sites in Israel point to the existence of the nation before they were taken part showing that is it the birthplace of the Jews. Jerusalem is recognized as the capital city for Palestine as well as Israel. The reason is more of historical attachment than any other tangible explanation. Past events such as the birth of Jesus, the events through the Bible, and the sites are present today. The places, therefore, give the Jews a legitimate claim to it. Such a valid application was consequently put into consideration, and the Jews were granted the independence they sought for a long time. The existing historic place and the history that the Jews have had deserves a state of their own. The invasion through the year, therefore, only erased a little of the history of the great nation. However, the existing hostile places are a testament to the existence of the state through time, and it is only proper that Israel is recognized as one. Compounded with other reasons such as anti-Semitism across the world, Israel has a serious claim as a nation through the historical sites and events that are evident for everyone too.

The Fight on Terrorism

The United States has been the number one ally to Israel since the time it was created to the present moment. Many people view Israel and the United States as the same thing, especially when dealing with the reprisals in the Arab world. The United States is ambitious, and the partnership with Israel sometimes raises serious questions regarding whether the relationships are genuine or the United states merely want to use Israel as its conduit in the middle East. The speculation is especially probable, seeing that the United States has not had a smooth relationship with the Arab nations, most of which are against the Israelite state. However, the association is much more beneficial to the balance of power and the war on terrorism. The United States aid to Israel has been increasing each day, which is thought to aid the country for military support to ward off the many enemies in the Arab world. However, Israel is a substantial military power with the ability to ward off any problem that may arise from the threats by its neighbors. Terrorism, therefore, is the reason why the United States maintains a close relationship with Israel, among other undocumented reasons.

The Arab world without a secret is mostly Muslim, with most of the terrorist activities emanating from the region. Israel, as a nation, provides the much-needed check on the terrorist acts which have their origins in the Arab world. Terrorism does not only affect the American nation but the world as a whole. Countries seeking to strike the problem can count on Israel as their base to their activities in the fight against terrorism. Israel, as a state, therefore, is more critical to the world that when it is not. The conflicts in the neighboring nations are a recipe for terrorism against the country as well as other nations in the world. Israel is considered to be an ally against the terrorist activities in the region even though it faces most of the repercussions for its association with America and the west. However, the United States is keen on establishing a relationship with the Arab nations. Still, the relationship with Israel puts it at crossroads with the Arab countries that do not have a rapport with Israel. However, governments that are keen on fighting terror at the source can also count on the Jewish state to provide the services they need since they are in the region.

Long-time in existence

Since the declaration of independence for the nation, it has been more than 70 years for the countries to have the conflict associated with the presence of Israel. Israel has been around for a long time that denying it being a state is futile; the best solution is to work on how to have peace with Palestine as well as the other neighbors. The Jews from other places that come into the country have established their roots, have families and investment after their descendants we uprooted in countries across Europe. While the Jewish occupation in the region may have been an issue with contention, there is no denying that going any other way will be adverse to the people of Palestine as well as the international society. Israel has enormous military investment and has been in a state of perpetual war by fighting in smaller conflicts. The conflict and fighting with Palestine have gone on for some time now and show no sign of being resolved. It is only through the agreement o have Israel as a state that will help to broker peace in the regions. With all the legitimate claims of statehood and rich history, the request should be honored.

Religion

Israel is the birth of Christianity, and many recognize the nation as the birthplace of Christianity as well as any other religions. For Christians across the world, they are in moral support for the existence of the state even when the muslins to have claims. However, the continued conflict attracts international concern, and the majority of the people in the world have a soft spot for and moral support. While most of the Christians feel that the Jews have the claim to statehood, Muslims and the Arab world do not. The issues, therefore, have many people involved, and just like the crusades gave birth to the current terrorism problem, the denial of the Jewish state would lead to problems far worse. Currently, the perception is that statehood is inevitable for the Jews. The only remaining thing is to have a proper resolution on the borders. The religious sentiments in the conflict complicate the matter further. Jews recognize Jerusalem along with other cities and shrines as sacred places in the journey in faith. The Arabs, too, have their claim, but it is best the situation resolves with the state of Israel in existence since Jews and Christians have a better claim than the Arabs.

Conclusion

The issue of recognition of Israel as states is one that has led to protracted warfare with Palestine along with full-blown military interventions in the middle east. Since the creation of the nation in 1948, its existence as a state has divided the world into two. While there are many reasons to feel that the nature of Israel as a nation was not done in the best way, the people of the country, especially the Jews have a legitimate claim to the state. Anti-Semitic in the world is one of the primary reasons why the nation of Israel should be recognized as a state. The Jews have only the country to call home after facing repercussions across the world, especially I Germany during the holocaust. At the same time, the historical connection of the Jews to Israel is legitimate, as history is recognized through the biblical account as well as other historical references. The nation has been in existence for far too long, and any other action apart from understanding it as the state would prove futile and detrimental to the security of the world. Religious claims to Jerusalem and other sacred places point to Jewish occupation. Apt from being the hue for ant terror effects I the Middle East, Israel as significant connections across the globe. It is only prudent, therefore, that Israel is recognized as a state.
