Part 1

The lesson on the population growth in Brazil was one of the most captivating and informative I have ever heard.  Before this lesson, I had no idea about what Brazil experienced in terms of population growth. However, this lesson provided me with background information on different aspects that were behind the reduction in population growth as well as the effects of government and societal influences on the population. The most interesting of this topic was how Brazil had undergone a demographic shift for the last fifty years, leading to a reduction in the population.

The fertility rate has reduced from six children per household to less than two children. This part of the lesson made me wonder why such a case has to be in Brazil when it was one of the growing nations in the world. Consequently, this topic on the human population not only informed me of how the fertility rate in Brazil has reduced, but it also diversified my understanding of how government and societal influences the population in other nations. From the case of Brazil, as we learned from this topic, it is evident that the government and society play a critical role in population growth by regulating putting in policies that restrict families to a given number of children.

From this topic, I suggest that other nations should adopt the policy adopted by the Brazilian government of birth control in the effort to reduce population growth, which was provided in this lesson.  Controlling childbirth will help this nation developed economically, like in the case of Brazil. Secondly, another important lesson from this topic is educating society on the need to control the number of children. In this matter, society plays a critical role in deciding the population of a given country. Therefore another country that has plans to develop economically has to build its foundation on the society being informed on the benefits of controlling childbirth.

I like how you have addressed what you found interesting in the discussion of labs and research papers. How the discussion was relevant your understanding of coral reefs and how they are fragile to changes in temperature, through this discussion you were able to you able to learn more susceptibility of coral reefs to extreme temperature. On the endangered species, act on which you did in your second people is equally impressed with the fact that you were able to realize how the act has rescued them. Most of them were facing extinction as a result of human activities, but by through the act, measured have been put in place that has yielded recovery of them.

I concur with the effects on the discussion it had on you. It made you understand how people around you interact with the environment. Their view on the environment is always different, and that is why we are having difficulties in environmental conservation, contributing to the loss of our biodiversity. Besides, the discussion on the significant links between wealth and birth rates in the United States provided you with adequate information on these issues on the environment that affect people in different geographical areas, as provided in your discussion.

On the measures to take in protecting the environment, I agree with you the future lies with us on how we train ourselves in reducing plastics use, cleaning up ourselves as well as dwelling on renewable energy as the source of power. Just like the scout does it, we need to train ourselves in keeping the environment in the same position we found it.

Lastly, as you have said, the best tool in tackling the environmental issues is by sharing the information you have with other people. This approach will be of great importance to the American people. Similarly, the use of different media platforms such as twitter and facebook are essential tools in addressing environmental issues that will ensure the information cuts across the entire American population.
