Woodstock was one of the suitable music festivals that made music artists to enjoy a legendary reputation in the music industry. Most of the people described Woodstock as the decade of harmony, love, and peace. The festival took precisely three days, starting from 15^th to August 17^th, 1969. At first, Woodstock festival was only targeting to design an outdoor festival characterized by three days of music and also three days of peace in the village of Woodstock. At first, the festival was to attract a small number of people of about fifty thousand but during the three days the number of people who attended increased by eight times. The festival became a symbol in America in the 1960s after attracting a significant number of audience. The whole idea of starting the Woodstock was to build a studio in the village to help singers. First of all, the people were eager to enjoy the “three days of music and peace. “ Most of the people wished that the show could have ended after a couple of days. The idea is what started as a music show ended being one of the best events to fodder in the history of America. The whole event was attributed to political and social significance. There were top rock artist that were invited to entertain the people. Most of the famous artists in the 1960s were all invited. Most of the people came to watch all these artists who were prominent at that time. Some of these artists include the Ravi Shankar, the Arlo Guthire, the Joan Boaz, and the Janis Joplin, among others. All these artists had strong command in their work, and that is why they are still being remembered up to today. The performers were ready to entertain the big crowd for the three days.

Therefore, the whole concern for this research work is to identify how artists such as Janis Joplin made history in Woodstock. She was one of the famous artists in the 1960s, and most of the people liked her work. She was born in Texas on January 19^th, 1943. At an early age, she developed a love of music. On all social occasions, she could be seen singing with a lot of passion. In her church, she was a choir member despite being a small child. She was doing all these at the age of six years old. Besides, she was amongst the first women to break the ground of rock music in America. In the 1960s, at the age of 20s, Joplin was well known for her love in music. She used to compose songs at the primary level of school, and this made her be the first woman to hit on rock music in America. She was well known for her powerful blues-inspired vocals in rock music. In school, Joplin mobilized a small group of pupils who were interested in music. They formed a small band that could entertain the school and the entire society too. The group also had different principles, and that is why most of the time, they emphasized creative expression in the school. She grew up with the passion of music until she came famous at her age of 20s.

In her career, Joplin has been described as a woman who was creative and hardworking. She was so cooperative, and that is why most of her show she gave live performances. Joplin arrived at Woodstock on August 17^th, 1969, at precisely 2:00 a.m. The band seemed prepared, and the whole incidence started on Sunday. Before the festival, Joplin worked hard enough and encouraged other members of the group.  “We would be performing at the concert as if it were just another gig,” Joplin seemed to have been waiting for this festival for a couple of years. She appeared to be fully equipped to perform to her best. On Saturday afternoon Joplin and his band were flown by helicopter to the Woodstock from a nearby motel. After a short time, they approached the crowd, and after seeing a large number of people, she looked nervous and giddy. Upon landing and getting off, Joplin seemed unconscious. When the reporters approached her, she refused to speak and directed them to his friend since she was not excited to talk to the reporters. After a short time, Joplin was ready and eager to get to the stage; unfortunately, she was delayed and directed that she will be alerted after everything was available. Joplin waited for more than ten hours until all the bands invited performed. The groups were to perform before Joplin, and this subjected Joplin to a long wait of more than ten years. She was not happy after that long wait, and after arriving backstage, the artist shot heroin and took some alcohol. By the time the artist was reaching the stage show was “three sheets to the wind.” Her voice changed and slightly wheezy and hoarse as she was struggling to dance throughout the performance.

Joplin tried as much as she can to perform, but all was not as usual. As she was performing, she asked the audience to mention what they wanted and also asked them if they were staying stoned. The audience replied, and she said that “let us ball and chain.” After a long period of struggle in the stage, Pete Townshend went direct to the stage and told the crowd that she was not in her moods. Townshend, who was performing after Joplin in the festival, informed the audience that Joplin was amazing during the performance, but she could not perform to her best. The artist also continued and said that the long delay and some alcohol, together with heroin, affected her performance. On the following day Joplin that is at 3.00 a.m. Monday, Joplin did everything on the stage as usual. She was one of the artists who remained in Woodstock, and she stood in between Nash, Crosby, and Stills. They were the members of the band, and this was their first time to perform. Every person in Woodstock stood up and listened to the group performing. The group perfumed for more than five years. At this time, Joplin made everything live, and she performed with an electric. According to her, “The show marks my life in music, and I have to perform to my best.” These were some of the messages that Joplin directed to the audience in the show. She made everything different after waiting for that long the previous night.

The whole incidence elaborates on how Joplin seemed active under the influence. The alcohol to her acted as a motivation. When she was performing, she could ask the crowd whether they were ready to be stoned. The people replied loudly, and she said: “let us ball and chain.” To her being under the influence it is a measure of motivation to the artist. Despite that she struggled with the voice, Joplin seemed to be understanding what she was supposed to do in the stage as an artist. The whole idea is that the artist ensured that she was ready to maintain that good rapport with the crowd despite the situation. On another hand, from the entire scenario, one tends to learn that influence could deter someone from achieving goals and dreams. Not all people in the crowd liked the condition of the artist she was. Through this analogy, the photographs in the Woodstock festival failed to record her songs. Besides, the Joplin argued that she was not happy with the Photographers after they were unable to capture the videos during her performance. To her, nothing wrong happened, and that is why she cooperated with the crowd in the entire performance.
