Literature Review on How Technology has impacted Nursing Practice in the year 2019
The world of technology has amazingly become so effective hence extending a hand in the development of health nursing. Gone are the days of manual filling of the records and the associated meticulous. In my research, I have incorporated different journals, articles, and compared research work done by various scholars. In reference to the article on How Technology has impacted Nursing Practice in the year 2019, it has outlined how Electronic Health Records (EHRs) are contributing to the space of healthcare technology. Some of these records include notes, medications, problems, and lab data.
It extends that EHRs can perfectly enhance the improvement of a patient through accuracy improvement and medical records clarity and ensuring that data is easily accessed through healthcare providers, patients, and doctors without much hustle. The article has enabled me to reveal out the associated telehealth advancements, which have played a very crucial role when it comes to accessibility improvements. According to this article, the systems of telecommunications have made it possible for the patients geographically separated to be able to receive nursing care through remote patient monitoring, mobile health apps, and the live-video conferencing. I also incorporated the journal on Technology’s Role in nursing education. This has helped me to bring out the facts about how most of the nursing students have developed a greater positive attitude towards the use of technology in facilitating and improving their process of learning. It also reports on the associated affinity towards the blending of the learning experience with both the face-to-face experiences and the online. The journal reveals that a significant number of nursing students have perfectly demonstrated that the application of nursing technology is a great plus to their learning process. It was a great inspiration to my research as it mainly focuses on essential nursing and technology topics such as the main trends, significant challenges, and essential developments when it comes to nursing technology education. It has also integrated questions of discussions regarding leadership, policy, and practice.
The article about the associated Impact of Emerging Technology on nursing care gave me a perfect insight regarding the related nursing challenges of the leadership towards integrating new technology. It has greatly helped me to raise some crucial questions such as what the leadership challenges nurses are likely to face when it comes to the integration of new technology in the caring part of nursing? Who are the stakeholders to help in determining the ratio of cost-benefit, which then justifies the development and utilization of highly expensive technological innovations in nursing? Who is going to be responsible for the follow-up of initial technological training enhancing the workforce and ensuring continued technological competence to aid in practice?
In the Journal future of technology, it talks about mobile technology in nursing student and working nurses. This will, give me a clear insight into the elaboration about instant access to the drug diagnoses, references, medical textbooks, and the use of online guides on the apps and the tablets. It explains how such devices have become highly crucial in the environment of healthcare and an added advantage when it comes to the provision of the drug compendium, procedures involved in nursing and treatments, and information about disease, especially among the nursing students. With the help of different scholarly work, I will mainly put more focus on how nursing programs vary depending on the kind of technology they utilize and other new technologies introduced daily. Therefore, this paper will put more emphasis on the integration of mobile technology in nursing.
