Digitalization and the use of modern technology are essential to the success of any company, field, or organization, especially in this era that we are in. In fact, technology has become one of the most common subjects to be discussed around the world as most of the people, if not all, do not want to be left behind when it comes to this sector of development. It is through this technology that has made it possible for the introduction of an automated process, the use of artificial intelligence, and the use of robots to run the everyday activity of various organization at different levels. In this context, modern technology merely means machines, which are either computers or equipment which have been computerized, for instance, robots that have been pre-set to work or act/mimic in a manner similar to those of humans.

Technology is everywhere, which is a hundred percent undeniable. It has become an inseparable element in this present-day workplace. Co-operate managers and workers use their smartphones and desktops to keep up to date with the things that take place around their working area. They do so by enjoying unlimited outbursts of information on the internet right in the comfort of their offices and at home.

Technology is dated way back from the Stone Age days when crude tools, for example, metals and stones were being used as the technological products of that time. Since then, there has been a lot of advancements in the workplace, and it is impossible to think of a man without relating him to technology. This advancement is in health, education, business, agriculture, marketing, computers, just to mention a few. As a result of this, working has been made extremely easy, simplified, smarter, and faster.

Technology enhances creativity and innovation in the present time. It encourages workers to think outside the box and to improve development at the workplace. Creativity comes from the observation of the world, interpretation of what we have seen, and the creation of new ideas. Technology enables one to look at the world differently; hence, accessing information is made much more accessible. Creativity and technology go hand in hand. Let’s take the example of how technology is being used as a marketing tool today in most businesses; there are plenty of social media platforms that have aided in the interaction of business owners and customers. Also, these platforms have been used to transmit and exchange information business-wise. Through technological advancement, hiring and recruiting of new employees has been made easier since it’s just a matter of advertising job openings in the various platforms. This means that recruitment and replacement is now an instant thing. This saves the hustle of having to do all the paperwork from scratch.

It is undeniable that the topmost advantage of technology is the speed/faster way of operating things. An entries’ days’ work can be done in a couple of minutes with the right computer along with a harmonized suitable software. The software makes it possible for a large amount of data to be compressed into small data. Moreover, it is efficient and reliable throughout the whole world for making one’s work easier. In addition to that, the machines in production and manufacturing have also undergone a rapid transformation making products to be built or developed within a concise period. Technology also helps various companies to be abreast with the current trends and developments around the world. This enables them to know what they ought to drop and what they must keep.

Technology acts as a substitute for the human resource, which has helped to cut down on the cost of production in many organizations and companies. This helps to boost the returns and increase profit margins. This is possible due to machines don’t need compensation or salaries as it is with human employees, but only maintenance. Since the cost of production has gone down, this will translate to an increase in the profit of several companies or organizations. However, this will be inconsiderate to how the machines are maintained. Proper maintenance of the machines equals high productivity since they will be in good working condition.

Technology boosts work efficiency in various workplaces. This has been possible since machines, computers, and software now look like the next prototype of man. The mere fact achieves the efficiency that the employees are less pressured since the machines do most of the work. This has helped to sustain the existence of different types of business. For instance, the introduction of robotic surgery in medicine has made it possible for those surgeries that were considered very difficult and hard to navigate to be easily done with the skills of a robot. Some of these surgeries are complicated that even the smallest little hands of a baby were considered too big for those kinds of operations. Hence robotic surgery is able to penetrate through those delicate organs.

As much as technology has come with a lot of advantages, it does not lack its shares of disadvantages that come with it. The invention of most powerful weapons, for example, the atomic and nuclear bombs have cost the lives of very many innocent people. The terrorists who create chaos around the world are using the same technology to create havoc and destroy the peace and stability of various countries as some of them attempt to overthrow the government. Different countries and heads of state use this to attack other countries that are presumably their enemies. This has led to people living in fear.

Through the invention of applications such as Facebook, Twitter, and other social media apps has led to social disconnection since people prefer interaction digitally than real-life contact. Through this disconnection, studies have suggested that it’s causing depression in other types of mental illness. The internet has encouraged territory of evil forces to thrive, for example, drug dealing and pedophilic. Social media has increased the level of dependency on machines to the extent that individuals are handicapped without such devices. This has also doubled the level of lazy individuals who just prefer to sit on their coach and everything to be done for them.

Through technology, it has become tough to differentiate what’s real and fake due to digital media manipulation. Editing tools are used to alter photographs and videos are doctored. Plagiarism has become a common thing since copyright laws are hard to enforce, and also students can copy and paste their school work without learning anything.

Technology tends to be risky in terms of data security. This is due to all vital business information that needs to be kept safely, which may pose a challenge since it can be hard to monitor the privacy and usage of the information. In addition to this, the machine may be too costly to maintain since they need a technical person to operate and maintain. The risk of losing data to a corrupt website is on the high note. As much as technology has come up with a lot of benefits, it seems to be costly to humans. This is due to these machines are automated, which means that they will not need the human workforce; hence, most of the people will lose their jobs/remain jobless.

Technology is right and has brought massive changes to the world. Change is inevitable, and we all must embrace it. Whereas technology (robots and computers) are evolving at a very rapid pace, the human race is growing very slowly. Hence there is a need to channel these changes in a slow and non-disruptive manner, which is humanly focused. In this manner, the evolution of technology should go in a more deliberate way, taking into considerations and figuring out how society needs to evolve first to interact with the uprising technologies. Technology is excellent and effective and will impact significantly on how to deal with these changes or else human-robot interaction may become baseless in a short time. Hence the new technology should focus more on providing validated and detailed scientific conclusions rather than on demonstrating and building new ideas before humans are equipped with the necessary skills.
