Joining Montclair State University is a dream come true. This did not begin today. I have kept this dream ever since I entered high school. It is one reason I feel that I share the same vision with Montclair State University. It is never usual for me to have a desire for something, then I miss it. I desired to advance my studies at the university, and here I am. I am passionate about the criminal justice system. Often, I find myself interested in matters of justice for my family and all people. I took my time to reflect on the best university to join. My dream and vision led me to Montclair State University. I, like the Montclair State University, share the vision of understanding the nature of justice beyond expectations. Joining this university gives me a permanent opportunity and pleasure to further explore my understanding of the criminal justice system. I am more than pleased because my desire has been achieved.

My reasons for joining Montclair State University are almost entirely academic. I believe that my deep passion for the criminal justice system emanates from the desire to serve the community. This is deeply embedded in Montclair State University’s core values. I like to work out and meet people. I also want to participate in different social activities. I believe that such interactions and activities will enhance my understanding of why people behave the way they do. The Montclair State University sponsors such as social activities like basketball games to appreciate cultural diversity. I participate in boxing and basketball. These are games that I have been passionate about since childhood. They not only bring me together with my community but also gives me a sense of belonging. I was looking for a university that appreciates and upholds such values. Besides, I was looking for a university where every student is given an opportunity to learn regardless of their gender, beliefs, and cultural background. Such a university enhances mutual respect and establishes a conducive environment for learning. The university allows each department to create a niche for every student.

This is evident in the way students learn in an orderly manner, with passion and commitment. Driven by the same desire and commitment to understanding the relationship between criminal justice and culture, Montclair State University will be the only and most perfect place for me.

Every piece of my mind is focused on matters of criminal justice. Before this selection, I conducted an online search about the criminal justice major at Montclair State University. I loved the adrenaline rush that ran down my spine when I saw the different programs offered under the criminal justice major. I was really contented with the information I found. I am passionate about understanding the inner workings of the legislative, the judiciary, and correctional services. This is exactly what I found on the university’s website. I was fascinated with the fact that the university links current global issues such as the death penalty and police brutality to the justice system. I immediately felt encouraged and motivated by the program. I was happy with the fact that this program will help me to understand current controversial issues and their impact on the delivery of justice. I want to become a law enforcement officer. I am an open-minded and responsible individual. This job does not only mean maintaining law an order. It also means serving the community with passion and commitment to ensure that every member is given an opportunity. I see the Montclair State University as a large book that I should read. There are many chapters of the criminal justice system that I desire to understand. I intend to probe and read all these matters to prepare myself for my future role in society. This gives me a great deal of responsibility to serve the people with equal opportunity.
