Despite their good intentions and love of their son, Rebecca Pearson and Jack recurrently show that they are very naive and ill-prepared for raising a black child. The episode shows one of the subtle examples of the obliviousness Pearson on the matter. Additionally, till they change his name to Randall from Kyle, they had already given names to their three children that stated with Ks meaning all initials were KKK. Precisely, with each episode, the series practices what is known as progressiveness. Tackling challenging subjects but in a manner that feels too much safe. However, the series has done an incredible job as it conveys both realistic joys as well as current marriage.
