diverse literature genres
The world of English and English Literature were introduced to me at a very young age. I could spend days wrapped up in a world existing in between the pages of a book that provided me a fresh and creative outlook and developed my ability to read the sentences with a broader sense of details thus building my intuitions and expanding my mind. With the passage of years, my appetite for English grew too. I began to understand the historical significance of literature and how, through books and literature, one can genuinely travel through time to places that once were. Reading diverse literature genres helped me make sense of the world and learn, understand, and appreciate the beliefs of other people.
Until a couple of years ago, I was trapped in a world of numbers and figures, science and maths, losing touch with literature, the world of creativity. However, my aesthetic attraction and deep-seated fascination towards literature emboldened me to make a sharp u-turn back to my home ground. I joined IBC media as a financial journalist in 2017 and worked with the company for two whole years. The job administered the favourable circumstances to develop and polish my writing and reporting skills in the niche industry of Blockchain and Cryptocurrency. During my stay at IBC media, I also published my first book Weathered. Weathered was a profound personal journey that I put on to paper and shared with the world. On the onset, I expected Weathered to be a book that would find a place only in the back corners of bookshelves in the homes of my family, friends, and a smattering of colleagues. But two months into sales, I had managed to sell over 200 copies of the book. From then on, there was no looking back. Having successfully met my targets with Weathered and having sailed through my course at IBC Media, I moved on to more writing for clean energy companies, climate change programs, product companies, lifestyle companies, and more.
In 2019, I started working with ‘The Chidolue Law Firm’, a family-owned law firm based out of Florida, dealing with matters of immigration and trademarks law. I worked under Ayesha Chidolue and discovered the world of contracts, legal writing, and more.
Long before I discovered the formal avenues of writing, I was introduced to the world of literature by the likes of Dickens, Bronte, Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Rushdie, Stoker, and more. Cementing my interest and an unquenchable appetite for the English language, I was introduced to more colonial literature and contemporary writing through my CBSE curriculum throughout my years in school. Further, having been to several schools, due to the transferable nature of my father’s job, I have played a key role in every school’s monthly-issue magazines and papers.
