During that job, I interacted with Miss Catherine Bell, who was graduated from Harvard Law College and was working as a Head of Legal Department in Emirate Oil Company, Dubai. Studying law at the graduate level refines my understanding and method of thinking, which I think will better serve me in my professional career. My superlative performance in Law College fetched me a number of awards, including the first team to win moot court competition, certificate of excellence for academic outstanding performance and participation in National Seminar on ” Rethinking of Juvenile Justice System in India”. I have always adopted a rigorous approach in order to attain an in-depth understanding of the subject at hand. This has given me a broad conceptual basis, which I believe is essential for my future career. My grades in the basic courses reflect my quest for fundamentals. My overall grades in undergraduate studies have been good. Although in the first semester I struggled but with the consistent hard work and study, I achieved an excellent grade in upcoming semesters and also received the award for academic performance. I have developed a special interest in Intellectual Property Rights and Information Technology Law.
In addition to the study, I have participated in numerous extracurricular activities. I was an Executive Member in organizing the All India Moot Court Competition, at the Career Point University. Being part of an organization team taught me the importance of communicating amicably with team members, dealing with difficult situations and working hard in a group. I am also a class monitor and assistant information officer at the Law School Student’s Union. I find these rewarding experiences extremely helpful in developing interpersonal and leadership skills. I am sure that these lessons will serve me well in the times to come. Furthermore, I am a member of the NGO “Anirudh Foundation” which provides food, shelter and legal counseling to poor people. I believe while making money we should not forget our moral existence and try to give back to society.
Starting from courses that I chose during my primary law degree and interest developed during the course of professional practice, I have been keen to study the practice of international bodies and analyze the evolution of various regulatory models across the globe through which they function. I want to pursue the courses on Intellectual Property Rights and Information Technology Law. I also wish to understand how the sovereignty of nations is often impeded by trade and IPR negotiations and in turn impinges on effective trade relations necessary for economic development. I feel this course would relate to my professional experience and help me analyze the current global discourse on intellectual property rights and development.
In furtherance, I have studied in one of the best institutes of our country and feel the need to expose myself to the master study in the U.K. which is currently among the world leader in law study. I have compelling reasons to believe that I will be extremely successful both as a master student and later as a professional. An LLM degree will allow me to perceive the ever-growing ambit of legal studies and essential concepts from a holistic medium. I believe that postgraduate study at your university will be the most logical extension of my academic pursuits and a major step towards achieving my career objective. Moreover, as a globally recognized center for learning, it promises to prepare me well for the service of the society through knowledge and empowerment. As an aspiring legal expert, it will be an ideal platform for me to get to know students from other countries and also to develop a strong working relationship with them.
