10 Day Trip
My ten-day trip will be to Laos. The tour will be primarily for sports, site seeing, and learning the culture of the locals. Laos in an independent country that is located in the south of Asia. The country is landlocked with Thailand bordering it on the northeast and Vietnam to the west.
The choice of Laos was informed by the numerous attraction sites in the country and magnificent resorts. Furthermore, the laid back lifestyle is not available in many other places in the world.
Some of the places to visit include the Pak OU Caves, the ruins of Wat Phu, plains of Jars, and the magnificent Mekong river.
One of the challenges will be the language, but I will have a translator who will also be the tour guide. I will also have to learn the Buddhism culture, which is the most popular religion in Laos. The culture here prohibits the expression of intense emotion. Additionally, people here lack strong ambitions and are discouraged from working too hard. In this society, people do not want to get involved in any form of stress, and this means that education is not highly regarded. I will have to learn to accommodate these beliefs in my stay in Laos.
During my stay in Laos, I will stay in the riverside town of Vang Vieng, which is about 4 kilometers north of the capital. The city surrounds the spectacular karst hills. During my stay, the food that I will eat will be Khano Niao (Sticky rice) Tam Mark Hoong(papaya salad), Khao Piak Sen (noodle soup), and other traditional dishes in the country.
The country has clean air, but the transport is not adequately developed, and hence, it may hinder effective mobility. The cost of visiting the country will be borne by my parents, who will be in my company. The money has been saved with some extra just in case there will be an emergency during the visits. The temperatures in the country are sometimes sweltering, recording up to 29 degrees Celsius. This might be a challenge to adapt to these weather conditions.
The most popular sport is football, which I think I am conversant with. However, I will have to learn about the Lam Saravane style, which is the most popular music style in the country.
The trip will not only be beneficial to me, but it will be useful to my classmates, with whom I will share the experience.
