The following stud will assess how health managers can promote the security and privacy of their patients. Additionally, the study will determine some of the consequences that can emanate out of the failure to implement safety and privacy standards.
One of the most effective ways of improving the security and safety of patient’s information is by ensuring that there is correct storage of files. Additionally, it is essential to ensure that all paper files are stored well and privately. Also, the paper junks should be disposed of properly in a way that will ensure that the information of the patients is not available to third parties.
As a health manager, it is vital to ensure that I own the mobile devices and that they are not accessible to third parties. Also, it is critical to ensure that all the files are checked and stored correctly. It is also essential to ensure that there are sufficient and quality firewalls for all computers and further ensure that all the files are encrypted. The above process will go a long way in safeguarding patients’ information and further avert accessibility by third parties. Finally, I will ensure that I am continually gaining education on security issues, including seeking information on the emerging security loopholes and seeking for a solution to these loopholes. Failure to enforce privacy and security guidelines, health care managers, can be sued and charged for breaching the federal laws.
