My life experience

The question of what defines and shapes an individual into what he or she is meant to have always been a food of thought to many. I believe who we are and what we become is a series of choices that we make throughout our lives. The incidences that happened throughout our lives, leaving behind memories, often shape our personality. The recollection of these memories forms the root with which our future blossoms. I remember one fall morning, November 27, 2000; I took my first breath of air in Seattle, Washington. My parents had allowed us to spend our thanksgiving together with our grandparents. I love my grandparents not just for their overprotective and warmth they offer but the life lesson that they impart on us. By then, I was just an innocent little boy radiant and perceived life as joyful; hate was not in my vocabulary.

Thanks for giving has always been my best holiday since we come together as a family and celebrate. I meet with my cousins to whom they are cheerful and always teasing each other. With my grandpa around, I will run up to him and sit on his lap since I was his favorite. His stories about the military always fascinated me. I wanted to be a soldier when I grow up. Whenever they went out fishing with my dad, they took me with them. I was jovial and easy to get along with; thus, I never cause any trouble other than my inquisitive nature and curiosity that keeps them always on toes in answering my questions.

As we used to travel most of the time, I managed to stay active. Before fourth grade, I was in a junior football team and managed to secure an attacking position. I was an excellent player and loved football. I managed to be among the top attacking footballer to whom the team relied on. By fifth grade, I took an interest in music and performed in several family functions and joined the school music club. Besides music, I was a highly active writer in every column, whether social media to school magazines. The writing was my passion, and I sure excelled at it. I was good at short stories, poems, songs, and even essays. I managed to participate in almost every contest of writing presented to me. I remember participating poetry contest in fifth grade and, even though I did not win, I was second, and my teachers and parents were proud of me.

By middle school, I joined music class, where I learned to play the violin. However, before I was through with my classes, I transferred to another school in a different state that did not offer an orchestra class. As a result, I did not manage to learn the violin thoroughly. Enrolling high school brought about a whole new experience, for I paused in all the curricular activities and decided to explore new talents. I entered the debate club, where I dropped after a year. Since I had dreamed of becoming a soldier, I, therefore, joined the junior reserve club, where I managed to survive for two years. However, in my senior year at high school, something happened that changed the whole perspective and drew me to nursing. I wanted to be more than just a solder. I wanted to save lives and help in caring for those who cannot take care of themselves.

I grew up in a family whereby my parents were warm, kind, supportive, and nurturing and had high expectations for the level of independence and maturity. They were sensitive, democratic, encouraging, and reasoning also supportive of our needs and counseled us whenever we went astray. They exercised a certain degree of strictness, which had their limits. My parents are my pillars in life. They guided me in everything I pursued and taught me all that I know about the life lesson. For any decision I made, they supported me, and I will always turn to them when things go south. All the life hurdles that I faced since childhood to my teen years, my parents were still there for every single step. The fails, the success, tears, and sorrows, they offered a shoulder to lean on. My family is my strongest accomplishment for it. I have learned and developed to the person I am today.

Moreover, I managed to participate in almost every single sport that existed in high school. I played football, running trucks, played music, joined school clubs, and had fun with my friends. Further, I volunteered in a shelter home near our home, whereby I managed to draw a passion for care and compassion. With my parents guiding me through, I managed to start a small business, for I love being independent. Being around people and working with them helped me to gain other prospects in life. I got my first job as a lifeguard and swim instructor at high school. Sciences were my robust suite in high school and even through college. The only thing that I wish I could have done differently is to spend more time with my grandpa before he passed away. He was everything I wanted to be in life.

My long term goal for the next decade encompasses being an adult nurse. Working as a nurse offers an individual an opportunity to make a difference in other people’s lives other than your own. Moreover, studying nursing provides excellent employment prospects. Being a nurse incorporates caring for patients with a variety of conditions, from minor to major injuries and ailments to acute and long-term illnesses and diseases. Nurses support the recovery of patients by using care plans, carry out care procedures, and evaluate as well as focus on the needs of the patient instead of the ailment or the disease itself. I know I cannot be happy working in the lab since I am a people person. It’s a privilege to care about other people.

My career goals are to finish school and work as a nurse. During my nursing career, my primary aims are gaining trust and confidence with my patients, implement plans for any tasks that I undertake, such as preparing patients for operation, treating minor injuries, and monitoring pulse, among others. I genuinely have a passion for nursing I will share and cultivate that in others. Also, help to precept new nurses at the bedside and help them acquire the required skills and grow professionally. The salary expectations of a nursing profession stand at $50,000 annually. I am comfortable with it.

In the event of my death, if I die young, I want my body to be donated for medical study. However, if I found myself to old age, I want my body to be cremated and my ashes to be sprayed in the ocean. I want those who knew me and the generation after that know my name. All the live achievements will be of service to people. A short ceremony where people will give a toss for how good I was and be happy that I dedicated my life for the right course is all I need. One of the most important aspects of my life that I want to be remembered for is transforming
