Humans and Neanderthals
Neanderthals had a bilateralized brain which is linked to speech. This means that they had brain laterality which is the same to that of modern humans, implying that they may have talked. There is enough evidence to prove that they could speak. The Neanderthals also had a high cognitive ability which can be proven through the tools that they developed and used. They adopted the Levallois technique of making stone tools to modify the core of the stone tools. A hard strike was used to create a separate tool which contained a uniform edge and could, therefore, be used to make more tools. The Neanderthals were also able to leverage vegetation for medicinal uses which is something that is done by modern humans. They also had burial rites that are similar to those that modern humans have. Even though it has not been determined whey they took the time to bury their dead intentionally, it is evident that they had already developed emotions similar to those of humans.
