field of marketing is revolutionizing day by day
I believe that the field of marketing is revolutionizing day by day due to the evolving technologies, escalating number of tech-savvy customers and the expansion of businesses beyond the national boundaries in the context of globalization. It has become a core aspect on which the success or failures of organizations depends. I was first exposed to the field of marketing while studying for my Bachelor’s degree at Jai Hind College. I have always thought of myself as a creative person and was confident that being trained in the marketing sector would lead to an increase in my creative skills.
During the first year of my undergraduate degree, I got the chance to intern with a Social Media marketing agency ‘Fullstop Entertainment’ and grabbed that right away knowing that I was not going to get that fantastic opportunity again. At Fullstop, I learned how to strategize campaigns and contests for different F&B brands and restaurants. I put in all my efforts to provide work that met with the client’s expectations while ensuring to keep the clients updated with all the work done by me and the growth in the followers through the virtue of monthly reports. This internship was a great learning opportunity for me and helped me understand this field better. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
To cope up with the different aspects of Social Media Marketing, I completed a Diploma in Graphic Designing. This helped me improve my designing skills and also helped me in strategizing different campaigns. During the second year of my graduation, I worked with the ‘Shraddha Foundation’- a school for intellectually disabled kids and helped them in manufacturing products that were later sold by the school as it provided a source of income for these kids. I felt very proud because working with this school offered me a unique chance to help this segment of the society which has been neglected by most.
During the second year of my undergraduate degree, I chose marketing as one of my electives to understand subjects like- Export Marketing, Marketing and Human Resource Management, Management & Organizational behaviour. The modules gave me a better understanding of the different trends in marketing, problems faced in export marketing and reforms undertaken and the working of an organisation. In May 2018, I joined FoxyMoron as a Digital Marketing Intern. This was a huge achievement for me because it administered a chance to work at one of India’s top marketing agencies. Having no prior knowledge in the digital aspect of marketing, it was a learning process for me. I prepared monthly reports for clients, brainstormed on different campaigns and contest ideas and worked closely with other departments of the agency to meet with the client’s requirements. This internship helped me to understand the working of a large organization, the different levels in an organization, and how to work in a diversified work environment. Further, the Industrial Psychology module in the undergraduate course helped me understand the need for understanding and maintaining organizational relationships.
It was during the end of the second year of college when I got a job offer from Fullstop Entertainment. I did not think twice before accepting the offer. I had more responsibilities and duties as an employee than I had as an intern, so I had to learn how to manage my work along with my academics. My hard work and diligent efforts to achieve the goals of the team made me very popular with my colleagues. I maintained a close rapport with my clients which helped me to understand their requirements and strategize on campaigns accordingly. I proactively suggested them various contest ideas, offers, and collaborations to help them promote their business on multiple social media platforms. My job furnished me with various tasks to showcase my leadership and decision-making skills. The experience I have received has helped me build my foundation in this field.
Along with managing my work and academics, I was also involved in many extra-curricular activities. I participated in the Inter-collegiate Business simulation competition organized by SP Jain, participated in the Jai Hind Advertising Festival and was also a part of the Rotaract Club of Bombay Bayview.
