Honestly, I found it very funny for the first time texting my friends and cousins to whom I never even replied, but I wanted to take an interest in their lives. So, I tried to talk to many people in the past two days, but very few people responded like they were interested in talking to me. Some of my cousins were like OMG! Look who just messaged! A few responses were like ‘Is everything alright? You are here today.’ Some of the replies were even very rude, maybe because I never took an interest in talking to them.
I remember my very old school friend’s reply was ‘Hello Hira! I am fine. Koi kaam the kya? I felt humiliated, though, because, after this, I tried to remind myself if there is anything wrong with her as she was my good friend. Two years back, she approached me on facebook, talked to me, and tried to introduce herself and told me that we were friends in school and everything. I was so busy or something that I left her messages seen and never replied.
Now, it was challenging for me to proceed with the conversation, but I began with a Sorry! She was a bit arrogant in the start and even tried to avoid the chat, but I started asking about her family, I asked about her siblings as I remembered their names, I felt that she became normal after a few minutes of talk. I was smiling in real when she asked me about my mother’s health, and I even listened to her long stories just because I wanted to show affection towards her. I also got her text today, and what I thought that this was all because of the importance I gave to her.
I applied this principle of being interested in a lot of things during the past week, and you cannot make anyone talk to you until you show the importance, you need to give them priority in your life. There are people in my contact list who have always contacted me first just because they care for me, they feel something for me, but I thought about all this for the very first time in my life. I tried to talk to almost 15 people during this week and showed interest to everyone and spoken by heart.
My cousins are still in shock, that how did I even text them first, I am feeling delighted because they are caring for me more now, this is all about the love, care, attention and most of all TIME! You have to make time for your relations if you want them in real, take an interest in others so that they feel happy to talk to you all the time. We get ready to impress people. We want them to admire us, but what do we do? We don’t even take a minute to say them Hi!
As soon as you become interested, the person starts finding you interesting! So Be interested!
Do what you want for your self, talk to people first, hold them in esteem, try to ask about them, their lives, their challenges, their problems. Many of us lose our relations because of egoism, lack of attention, lack of time, and mostly because they lose interest. When we want someone as a friend, we have to make sure we are genuinely interested in them so that the person doesn’t lose trust in us. Be real and enthusiastic so that you would be loved!
Stop expecting from others, if you can’t do what they want!
We all want to be loved; we want people to show us amity with their actions, such as by listening to our every kind of stuff, whatever it is, gossip, lame jokes, or the same type long stories every time. So listen to the people before you want them to bear you!
