ways through which World War 1  shaped the society

World War 1 was a great shock to the whole world; since it was the first war of its kind in the world history to bring massive destruction. Besides, it had a left a great impact to the society which still could be felt up to these recent and present years; this gives a depiction of how it was so destructive that, in the whole of American history, it shall never escape the minds of people. Not even the generation to come shall fail to get how destructive the war was. Having stated I 1914, the massive war ended at around the end of 1918. There were many factors and causes which led to the rise and breakout of the war. There were four main aspects which led to the commencement of the war; Nationalism, Alliances, Imperialism and Militarism. Moreover, the major factor which, finally, led to the outbreak of the war was the assassination of Franz Ferdinand.; that was when the aspect of Nationalism took root to facilitate the rate at which the war came to spread. The war resulted in massive destruction of many empires and the lives; on the other side, there were many new nations which came to birth as a result of the war. However, not all the nations got destructed during the war, because there exist some nations which ended up benefitting from the great war; these countries ended up getting prosperous as other suffered the loss. The great war had numerous effects to the nations; therefore, it ended up shaping the political, social and economic affairs of the society. The vivid way through which the war shaped the society is through the political aspect of feminism, economical aspect of gentrification and industrialization.

Feminism came to exist as after the great war, where women decide to become interventionists so that they could fight or what was right. The great war had a great impact on many lives of the women who were either involve directly or indirectly involved in the war. This involvement of the women tended to had reshaped the political temperatures in the society. There came changes which ended up transforming the woman figure; women got so involved due to the forces and circumstances which prompted them to resort to the participation in the battlefield. There were, also, various relations and identities which came to suffice between the two gender; this later resulted into some tensions and the ultimate transformation in the political arena of the nations. Therefore, a new woman of the new modernized came to the existence; these are the women who made their minds to beat all the odds just to ensure that they became part of the war. The war began when women were still not considered to be bold enough to do activities for themselves; however, there were women who had found themselves and set certain goals and when they came to exist, these women were seen trying to get in the frontline as they marshal fellow women to come up the better strategies which would work to their advantages. All they wanted was to get a way in which they could all participate in the war, mainly for protection and defense purposes. As for protection, these women made the intervention into the war to ensure that they get to the point where each woman could be able to protect her children from attacks. On the other side, the defense mechanisms had the main objective of ensuring that the women defend themselves during the war.

This intervention of women resulted to some political differences, as women had different conviction; not all the women of the time wanted to get involved in the war. Many women were in favor of the war while a greater population were of the contrary opinion. Therefore, according to the statistics, a larger group of women did not take part in the war and ended up getting disoriented and misused. Besides, they got so humiliated since they were not considered to be so important in the society. They were seen as the minors in the society who equal children. Furthermore, even the women who decide to take part in the war were still not an exception to the torture and mistreatment; they were also mistreated and looked down upon and cases like defilement in the battlefields were so common that many women got affected both physically and mentally. The mistreatments and violations which were aimed towards women are among the factors which resulted to the women organizations. These organizations had the same objectives and aims of fighting for the rights and the freedom of the women. A few months after the great war had commenced, women marshaled themselves and came up with the idea of strongly standing up for their rights; this came to the fore after they had come to the realization of their real selves. They had made up their mind to strongly reject their respective nations’ entry into the great war. Women had woken up and had a clear perception of the situation and the burden plus the difficulties that were still ahead of them. Women from all walks of life, workers, housewives and peasants made a resolution of making their life better through getting part in war to make a difference in the society. They became active and started to push for the rights and betterment of all genders regardless of sex or sexual orientation. With time, they began matching to the streets making invasions in the city halls with the main intention of destroying the cards which had been drafted. Around 1916 they made a step in their intervention and took to the demonstrate in the streets; they were taking this action for many reasons. First, the living standards had been so high since the economy had begun to destabilize. Hostility had been the order of day in the society and women decide to protest. Their protests, though never got to be so successful, later emerged after the war. Women became the interventionists who took strong positions to address and search for the solution to the societal problems.

Moreover, the great war played another big role in reshaping the economy of the society; before the war, there was a robust record on how the global economy had been. The economical status was already in the peak of getting more advanced and better when the war sufficed. Initially, almost all the nations had a balanced economy, as the advancement of technology began show its benefits. However, the world experienced a change after the world war; it came with the major economic effects which made the world economy to be unstable. First, before the war, the was a boom in the American economy as the Europeans began to purchase goods from the United States in preparation for the war. For instance, entry of the United States into the war at around 1917 also resulted to a change in the global economy; this forced the state to get into centralizing the controls sin production and pricing, as a way of guiding the economic flow of the nation. Finally, the massive change in the economy came to the fore when the US government began to become the globally-known debtor. The United States, though a neutral nation, contributed intensively to the war. First, they were tasked with supplying Allies with the imperative goods which they would survive on during the war. Though America, before getting into the war, was a great debtor, they later became the great creditors something which made the economy of the US to make a boost through the profits which they used to get from the tenders.

The great war had to get financed, and the possible ways through which the financing could get achieved was through credits, investing in bonds and foreign loans which were mostly from the US. It got to the point where the service of debt became of a burden to the countries which were more into borrowing. Many nations had to resort to finding solutions to the problems; and among the nations which came up a strategy to keep them in war is Britain. The British decided to increase taxes and issuance of the war bonds to sustain themselves sin the war. On the other side, German had resorted to surplus money-printing to ensure that they get at par with the other nations; through doing this, the government had an expectation that the economy would get stabilized to the extent of sustaining it throughout the war. However, the opposite happened; Germany ended up suffering hyperinflation. The hyperinflation made the economy to be unstable, since even the prices tended to be doubling with every wake of day. Besides, both the political and social impacts go so devastating because the internal war debt had brought their economy to its knees. As a result, citizens developed a sense of hatred towards the government because the economic situation was too devastating to the extent that some families would go hungry for days. The economy was so down and everything would not operate as according no plans; this called for an action which the government though would best serve the situation and save the nation with its citizens from getting into what would be termed as the economic depression.

Economically, many nations even after the war were not stable and aftermath of the war so serious since everything in the economy seemed not to be working pout even for the economic professionals who were contracted by the government to find out the best strategies for stabilizing the economy. Studies have found out that the occurrence of the war had interrupted the initial development which were underway; and without its existence, the world would have been at a better state compared the current situation. THE war wrought the economy in such a way that making plans which would make things to the normal state proved to be a hard task since the destruction was so immerse. As an aftermath effect of the war, there were controls and restrictions of the money flow. Later, the tariffs grew though the intervention of advanced technology overcame. However, this did not take much time since, there later came the Great Depression. Around this period of time, the global system of trading had been totally been blown as the trade barriers got reduced at the same time. This led to the thinking of how the balance of trade could get achieved. On the other side, it is through the war aftermath when the governments came to realize that financial prudence would be a good strategy to exercise. Another way through which the war reshaped the economy is in the way through which it ended up giving a clear demonstration on how the income taxes had the possibility of generating massive revenue. Collapse in production is another way through which the economy got affected by the great world war; this collapse in the production led to goods’ shortage since there tend to be excess circulation of cash relatively compare to the circulation of goods.

Industrialization had been one of the key advancements which pushed the commencement of the nations getting at war; which almost destroyed everything which had already been put in place. The impact and the cost got felt by both parties which participated in the war because even the nations which were on the gaining side, at the start of the war like America, later ended up feeling the pinch of the war. Generations got wiped as many lives were lost during the war. However, the war also made new innovations to come to existence. It brought about many changes to the world; first it brought new techniques in the nature of warfare. Th advancement in technology became one way through which war brough news innovations to the world. There came the introduction of technical arts of war; submarines, heavy tankers and airplanes became some of the highly advanced elements which came to existence and advancement as a result of the war. It was during the war when the world saw the first mass production of various techniques since every nation had the eager to get ahead of the other nations during; therefore, every nation had invested so much in developing new techniques. Chemical weapons also came to exist, for the first time during the war; the Germans had first used it to poison some of their enemies. From that point chemical weapons have been part of the society; though its impact is said to be so detrimental to the human life. These chemical weapons can swipe a mass of people thus, though theu exist, certain precautions have been placed in place to regulate their use.

Besides, before the war, the society had never experienced a mass conscription into the war; but the great war reshaped the social setting of the society by introducing the universal service of military of conscription. Another way through which the war made a reshape of the society is through the innovation of new medical practices; it is during the great world war 1 when modern surgery came to exist. Military hospitals through experimentation in the civil hospitals ended up coming up with new ways of handling soldiers who were maimed in the battlefield; they achieved this through several experimentation. Moreover, blood transfusion is another innovation which came to result from the medical trials during the war. After the civil doctors had realized that blood could be prevented from clotting, they came up with the idea of blood transfusion and banking; because they saw it as the best way of helping the maimed soldiers from dying.

Consequently, the great world war 1 resulted into massive changes in the society since it both had an impact in the feminism political sphere, economy and the entire societal setting. This is the great war, first of its kind, to reshape the society; the impact of this war is still felt by generation of today since it was so destructive and led to invention of various new technologies and medical technicalities. However, industrialization in the 1800s is the force which facilitated other factors which drove towards its commencement of this great war. On political orientation, the war and the previous factors which led to its onset forced many social organizations to be set, including the feminism group which pushed for the rights and liberty of women. Economically, the economy got so destabilized since the destruction of the war could not allow for the normal running of economical activities; because the nation were too engrossed in the war.
