Conscience as part of human

          Humans have a guide in their hearts, a guide to do what is right and wrong. This brings about conscience. Conscience acts as a battery to humans, where is hard for mobile to function with no charge or a battery. Conscience is altered by many factors surrounding us: the environment, people we relate, what around us and background foundation and mentorship. All those who are aware of themselves and what surrounds them are guided by conscience and ethics disciplines. The discussion, based on a Christian foundation will deeply explain conscience, how ethics work hand to hand with the conscience and who or what helps humans shape their conscience.

Conscience is the inner personality giving self-awareness on whether to do what is right or wrong and not an outside voice. (Meadors, 2019) state conscience as the inner guide of a person which acts as an audience room for the word and voice of God or the voice of the devil. Christians keep their conscience right by obeying the commandments of God and having a good relationship with God and our neighbors. Strong conscience is one with more knowledge and suffers no feeling of guilt while weak conscience lacks knowledge and suffers guilt and pain. Those with weak consciences are treated with love and taken through Christian education to improve their conscience. According to ( 1 Peter 3:16, Good news version) God will put all those who slander you to shame if we all have a good conscience.

Conscience is shaped by many factors. The natural endowments, social conditions, and moral choices. The natural endowment is the inborn abilities of a person’s such as intelligence and self-awareness. Intelligent people have the ability to understand facts, acquire knowledge and apply it in their life. Intelligent people will always have a positive conscience as the inner voice will direct them to what is right. Self-awareness is the way we understand oneself and we interact with all surrounding us. Having self- awareness we are able to define who we are, and helps to guide people to do what is right or wrong. According to (Mills, 1959) people can have excess self- awareness which can impact positive or negative results? People be more aware of their feeling and to stay alone which can lead to stress. The natural endowment will shape the conscience in a positive way or a negative way. (Goldwater, 2007) Social condition, the condition that applies when you relate with the people around you. If your close are close with those who do what is right your conscience will be molded to do what is right.

All the people who we relate have done a lot in shaping my conscience but mostly the parents, teachers and the priest as I spend a lot of my time with them. My parents and teachers guided me since my childhood to what is good and what is wrong, gave advice on how to handle dilemmas situations. The priest, giving a Christian foundation to what is right and wrong according to Gods commandments. Other factors such as global values: guilt to pollute the environment and killing of the wild animals.

Ethics is a moral principle which concerns what is good for people and society. Foundation of ethics is base on the conscience. According to the ethics its wrong to kill, where the inner voice of conscience knows killing its wrong. Those with strong conscience practice professional ethics as required.

Conscience as the inner voice is greatly altered and shaped by many factors. The inborn abilities and our social life we live. People who we relate with will greatly influence our conscience as we will try to copy what they do and their lifestyle. Parents, guardians, and teachers really matter in the shaping of their children’s conscience as the mold out a child’s behavior. The current world factors, these are the law passed locally and globally will shape once conscience. All those who practice ethics in their professionals mostly their conscience is strong. Conscience acts as a path to humans journey and can be either positive or negative as shape.
