This article is about how the killings of unarmed black men by the police, arguing that these killings are motivated by factors of race and racism. The idea from critical race theory, come from policing, criminality and racial profiling, critical consciousness will provide a foundation for understanding the racialized experiences of Black men in America, where racial injustice exists, and where police killings are viewed as lawful. I will use this article to help me argue how black people are affected by the viewings of police brutality in there society and how some cases of police brutality end up going unpunished.

This article is about estimated data over the rate of police killings in lower income communities. In lower income communities the police death rates were much higher than say a higher end community. Also, communities more populated by people of color are at higher risk of experiencing police related deaths throughout the community in which they live. I will use this article in my research paper to combat the counterargument I created which was that police officers should not be feared if you are not partaking in any criminal activity. I will combat my counterargument by showing how living in a certain community or even being a certain race can increase the risk of encountering police or worse, death by police because of racial profiling.

This article is about police brutality cases that happen in public schools. Public schools are mostly located in lower income communities. In some public schools, but not all, police officers are stationed to patrol the streets and halls of the school. In these communities where public schools are, the rate of police brutality are higher than communities where police officers are not stationed on a schools campus. I will use this article around the introduction of the topic of my paper to show how police brutality is a growing problem in our society.

This article is going to help me with my support arguments about how Black people are affected by police brutality and racial profiling without being directly involved. So how families and friends deal with the after math of someone they know being involved in police brutality.

The Grand Jury made a decision to not indict officer Daniel Pantaleo because the assumption that he was doing his job as an officer. This article will be used in my research paper to talk about how police officer can go unpunished even when killing another human being. This article will also be used in my paper to talk about how what the punishment would be is a police officer was indicted, and found guilty of police brutality.

This article talks about the aftermath and the mental health issues that Black communities face from police brutality. The article talks about PTSD of young Black males who experience a police officer arrest or a police officer using force against them. Also, the article talks on how police recruiting should be taken more seriously and that no police officer should leave the academy without training on the effects of trauma. I will use this article to talk about how families and friends deal with police brutality and if families receive any kind of imbuement from having a family member be a victim of police force or being killed by an officer.

This article is about police officers vs. the public’s view on how the communities should be policed. For example, some police officers believe that they need more officers patrolling the streets vs. the public’s view, which thinks more officers would be unnecessary. Also police officers are against the ban of assault-style weapons while the public believes that these weapons are not needed. This article will be used in my paper to talk about how some communities view on police officers have changed in the past few years and what other police officers think about police brutality acts.
