The term relationship may refer to how people may be connected either by blood or marriage or how they regard and behave towards one another. Basically, through the understanding of relationship based on marriage, it is then evident that people have faced problems in retaining such kind of connections due to various factors. These factors trigger the couples to break-up and each of the partners living a separate life from the other (Dryden, 2014). It is not a surprising thing to some individuals to come home from work and find an empty room without even a plate or a spoon, the reason being that previously they had crossed words with their spouses (Gottman, 2014). Failure to come into good terms and solving any alarming issues in the relationship results to the couples parting although to some extent, an attempt can be made to bring down the problems and come to a robust solution. This written work elaborates in detail the cause and effects of failed relationships.

It would be obvious thinking of cheating as one thing that would spell disaster to most marriages. Although this may be true, there are a myriad of others that may be overlooked but are a severe cause of the failed marriage relationships. It would be much advisable for the partners to be aware of the minor things in advance to avoid the chances of being blindsided in their future (Gottman, 2014). Firstly, internet addiction has been a cause of the failed marriage relationships to most individuals. In the current generation, people tend to take much of their time connected to screens, busy watching and doing other activities online and forget their roles are couples (Dryden, 2014). Also, being dependent too much on the internet can expose the relationship to various destructions and temptations. A partner may take a step ahead and start looking for side-sweethearts instead of concentrating on their lovers. Through the interaction with the ex-lovers, they get tempted and end up loving them more than their spouse.

Failure to know how to compromise, a process called self-centeredness is one of the severe and silent dangers to a relationship of people who are in a marriage. Based on marriage, compromise refers to none of the partners getting what they want. One has to give up for something despite seeming to have done so. In addition to self-centeredness, money is another cause that brings a lack of trust in relationships. In this case, couples can make financial mistakes that can result in ruining their relationship (Dryden, 2014). Instances of this may include conflicting values or even attitudes towards money or too much materialism. The other issue under this cause is the financial infidelity or introducing debts that are not disclosed, and one spends secretively.

Having a marriage in a health status does not imply that the couples have never been faced by situations to solve. However, what matters is how the engaged couple’s fight to come to a reliable solution in the matters. Compatibility in solving conflicts or having an understanding of fighting in the right way may strengthen relationships of marriage (Gottman, 2014). However, different people have grown up acquiring differently towards resolving disputes. Few individuals may think that shouting is the best method of solving issues while others may sweep things under the rug or entirely ignoring it and term it as the best method of solving problems.

Having love languages that are different would cause a couple’s relationship to be sour. There are different love languages exist in marriage relationships. An individual’s love language can either be act to serve, quality time, affirmation words, or even giving gifts. It would be advisable for a partner to determine his or her love language and that of the other to be sensitive in identifying the needs and deepening the perceptions of affection and romance (Dryden, 2014). Also, couples tend to focus much on the wedding rather than the marriage. They overspend to prepare for the wedding period and fail to have in mind that their marriage is a lasting one and that needs to be ready for more than the wedding. They fail to take sufficient time to talk about their future expectations and discussing crucial issues (Dryden, 2014). If couples invest much of their time in organizing their future, they would be in a position to address their future aspirations and alter their strategies to meet the needs of each other.

Effects of failed marriage relationships

Failed marriage relationships have many effects on children. Most of the kids nowadays end up having one parent as a result of their parental divorce (Dissing et al., 2017). Most of the children who grow after their parents have divorced, finally experience high poverty levels. Poverty affects children of divorce in several ways. First of all, poverty is viewed to be a social problem for many people. One of how poverty affects kids whose parents have divorced is that it makes them lack some of the basic requirements in life (Stevenson, 2019). These basic needs that are needed by every person include food, shelter and clothing. In society, those families with single mothers and fathers have problems with housing.

For the kids whose parents have divorced, they sometimes spend their night without eating because of financial problems. Many single mothers nowadays lack enough money to cater to their kids (Stevenson, 2019). These single mothers, therefore, end up being dependents of the community. Lack of education has been a significant component of poverty. Research shows that those children who come from a single parent background end up being illiterate (Stevenson, 2019). This occurs after as a result of their parents lacking enough money to pay their school fees. Most of the kids today d of the o does not proceed after elementary school level due to poverty. Lack of education has contributed to the increased crime rate in cities.

Most of the thieves in cities are those who come from poor backgrounds. Most of the towns and major cities are full of street children. Street children are healthy children whose parents have divorced (Stevenson, 2019). The percentage cover of the street children in towns today is increasing every day. All street children lack basic needs and are also not educated. Researchers say that lack of education has paved the way for many early and improper marriages. Coaching has helped reduce first marriages among the youths today. If children from a single parent background do not further their studies or fail to go to school at all, they can engage in early marriages (Stevenson, 2019). In the process of engaging in first marriages, they may be tempted in choosing wrong partners.

Marrying incorrect partners, for example, may involve getting married to someone whom you have never known before. Lack of education due to poverty has contributed to the loss of many talents among the youths (Dissing et al., 2017). Those children who may be good at academics end up not achieving their goals because they do not pass through the education curriculum. Children whose parents have divorced may practice some of the risky sexual behaviors. For instance, prostitution has been a significant sexual activity among many young girls today (Stevenson, 2019). Many youths cohabit with one another to satisfy their needs as a result of their parents lacking enough money to provide for their necessities (Dissing et al., 2017). This practice of cohabiting is not good at all because it is not an official marriage.

Failures of many marriage relationships have contributed to several emotional problems. These problems are usually familiar to the young adulthoods. Marriage divorce does not only affect the children but also affects the parents. According to the researchers, parental divorce has left many mothers being a window (Dissing et al., 2017). Windows left in the social experience more hard life while they struggle to provide for their families. Most of the windows on return to their home, they may be neglected by their parents. When their parents neglect the windows, this forces them to provide for themselves and their kids (Dissing et al., 2017). Most of the mothers who are divorced sometimes suffer from social stigma since many people in society look down upon them.

Many marriage relationships have failed due to many factors such as addiction to the internet, self-centeredness, money issues, focusing too much on wedding and not the real marriages and having different love languages. These factors are common in our societies and should be controlled to reduce the incidences of many divorces. Many marriage break-ups have affected both children and mothers negatively. One of the effects of marriage break-ups is increased poverty level. Poverty has contributed to a lack of education and engagement of risky sexual activities among the youths. Efforts should be made to stop marriage break-ups in society.
