What topic related to comedy do you want to research?
My topic of interest to research on as far as comedy is concerned would be personal experiences. Basically people have diverse experiences in their lifetime which are interesting in one way or the other. However, many people try to keep their personal experiences as secret to avoid being seen as fools. For instance, who would be willing to share on his or her experience in which he or she was conned at a bright daylight? Absolutely none, simply because most of such experiences are always awkward to an extent that they even make the victims find it reasonable to laugh at themselves.
From a legacy point of view, sharing personal experiences will act as a gift to the future generations. But many people may be wondering how sharing personal experiences would benefit? Well, difficulty experiences sometimes befall people out of the lack of knowledge and insights from people who have gone through some similar situations before. Sharing personal experiences will not only act as a source of entertainment but will also make the victims release themselves from the experiences they went through. Why do I want to research on personal experiences?
The main reason why I find this topic necessary for my research is because apart from being a way to entertain people, it can be a lesson and an insight as well to people who have not gone through some certain experiences. I mean, taking experiences whereby people are conned in some mysterious and funny scenarios will not only make the audience feel entertained to their fullest but also act as a lesson for them to be in a position to perceive and shy away from such experiences in future.
What academic discipline will help me research on personal experiences?
Considering the fact that many shy away from sharing their personal experiences, the only discipline which will enable me to get a way of understanding their past experiences in life will be the psychology. Through this discipline, I will be in a position to play around with their minds and get even to know their deep secrets about what they have gone through in their past. It has been evident through the past research that some personal experiences are hard to share with people especially the ones which would make a person appear as a fool but unfortunately such experiences are the ones which can successfully make comedy more enjoyable. It is therefore important to get to know such experiences no matter the case, and the only way to achieve this is by playing around with the victims mind until he or she reveals the experiences.
What my research will find in regard to my topic
Out of my research, I will be in a position to find out different personal experiences from different life scenarios. For instance, as I mentioned earlier on, in a case scenario of people being conned in some mysterious and unbelievable ways; I will be able to get to know the different ways and cunning approaches used by conmen or women to achieve their targets. Similarly, I will get to know how different people react to such scenarios. This is because there are those who will fall into the trap easily while there are those who eventually would take time to be trapped.
