Liberty and Order
Liberty, according to the constitution of the United States, refers to the freedom or the right for individuals to practice the rights as enumerated in the structure. Liberty means the freedom to express ourselves, to practice our religion, and live accordingly as the law prescribes. Order refers to the set of rules and instructions that dictates normalcy in society. I believe that there have to be guidelines governing people for peace and prosperity to remain. People should have conflicting ideas and views over issues, practice different religions, but they should be able to co-exist in the same society.
Liberty and order are two conflicting goals set in the constitution that need to be balanced. Liberty and order should be distributed in a way that there are balances. That is, people are allowed to practice the freedom to their rights while still maintaining order. For instance, the government of the United States has institutions that place checks and balances to liberty and order by having the authority to maintain order but insuring people’s liberties from being destroyed by the same power. The distribution of liberty and order will change as the society, opinions, beliefs, and views change and distribution changes in fairness to the needs of the community.
