effectiveness of school-based strategies
Evaluation
- During the study, parents will be issued with questionnaires that they will answer electronically while the students will take physical questionnaires that will be close-ended.
- The responses of the parents and kids will be given to the primary care physicians and nurses.
- The physicians and nurses will evaluate the data to determine the attitudes of the parents and children towards using school-based strategies to manage obesity in children.
- The weight of the patients before the intervention was implemented will be compared with the current weight to determine if the twelve months of school-based strategies were valid.
- The evaluation of the feedback of the patients will involve the collaboration of several stakeholders, such as nurses, physicians, dieticians, and counselors.
The objective of the project was to investigate the effectiveness of school-based strategies to help obese children reduce their weight. The initial data will involve the investigation of the current strategy being used to help children lose their weight and their efficiency. The validity of the strategy will be determined by a decrease in weight, reduced waist size, and the adoption of better lifestyles and feeding habits. The school-based policies will be practiced for twelve months. The weight and waist sizes of the children will be measured before commencing the project and after its completion. The data that will also be included in the project is the age of the kids and their medical conditions.
The collected data will be analyzed using the SPSS 20 software as it allows the coverage of many statistical formulas, and it can be updated every year to data sophistication. The software will analyze the weight and waist size changes among children. The collected and analyzed data will determine if implementing school-based strategies can help children lose weight. The goal of the project is to examine if it is appropriate to implement a school-based strategy in schools to reduce the prevalence of obesity among children.
