Introduction

The idea of the paper is to tackle various benefits which are associated with teenage sports. In the school environment, students are encouraged participating in sports because it provides more than physical health for kids but also is a benefaction to them mentally and emotionally. This paper highlights eight significant benefits which are associated with youth sports participation. The primary aspect of youth sports includes physical development, development of winning attitude, social development, the experience of feelings that accompany winning as well as losing, mental development. Some of the negative aspects of youth sports are body injuries; sports consumes time for one to excel, it also consumes resources, some cases of parental involvement may not be constructive and failure of not being selected for professional presentations.

Good health

Sports enable young children to develop healthy eating habits, develop physically, and resistance against common infections. Winnick, Joseph & David (2016) pints out that Children who exercise regularly through sports have a longer and healthier life. Sports enable young children to cultivate good mental attitude, to develop good social responsibility and boost physical health.

Development of self-esteem

Tokens of appreciation and incentives enable us to develop positive attitude and value of self. In some cases, a simple high five or thumbs up act as gestures that will allow developing confidence in young children. Such encouragements usually come from colleagues or coaches when they intend to appreciate someone for good performance. Through sports, teenagers and young kids develop self-confidence once they discover their abilities. The positive attitude about self can be extended to other parts of life such as education or pursuit for a dream which results into success

Sports provide an opportunity for children to perform a regular physical exercise. In most cases when children are instructed to perform physical exercise, they perceive it as a form of work. For instance, if they are instructed to play, they gladly join the wagon. When young people participate in sports, the regular exercise associated with the activities make them much healthier. Sports enable them to build their stamina and forms of endurance (Neely, Kacey & Nicholas, 260). The aerobic activities related to sports make their hearts healthier and allow them to maintain body weight which is healthy to help them fight infections and minimize the occurrence of obesity.

Sports enhance leadership skills.

Most activities in sports demand team collective efforts. Thus, instilling various characteristics of leadership to children. Team sports make young children to become responsible and exposed to recognition and performance of multiple roles (Verburgh & Lot et al 975). Sports educate kids that leadership is not always about who tops or the best, but to be accountable for personal actions and to become role models of education and sportsmanship. Selecting good performers to head their teams or act as captains introduce leadership responsibilities which young players incorporate in their personality and carry into their adulthood

Teamwork

Youthful athletes through various sports support them to develop abilities to perform with others. In my trust, this is an essential skill that the youth children through sports learn when participating in multiple games. The young athletes will carry the skills they learn throughout their lives and will assist them when they are older especially when their employment environment demands to work with others (Brenner & Joel 2016). Sports enable the young participants to develop team management skills, define their scope in various setting and form constructive networks in their multiple situations in life. Teamwork supports them to perform better with their siblings and in an education environment.

Development of stronger relationships

The social element of team sports enables children to learn how to behave in social occasions. Sports enable young athletes to develop a sense of camaraderie plus community that allows them to maintain, develop and nurture stronger associations. The relationships which young children develop from sports enable them to generate strong bonds that are positive to their future social skills. Stronger relationships boost their mental health and support them in developing a positive social network (Brenner & Joel 2016). The discipline which, is developed through sports enables young children to develop features that support them to make stronger relationships with meanings. The sports activities deter them from negative influences that encourage them to developed negative relationship skills. Development of stronger associations in later life enables people to live happy lives, avoid the negative influences of society and develop meaningful relations.

Better communications.

The team sports places young teenagers into various social settings that support them to express themselves. Since sports promote teamwork and nurture relationships, young children can develop communication skills and strategies. Sports assist young children in developing self-esteem which supports them to acquire better communication skills than their counterparts who are not involved in sports. Sports support young participants to develop practical communication skills which are expressed and used confidently in real life scenarios. People who engage in sports when still young are growing up to be good communicators who play their roles exceptionally (Winnick, Joseph & David,  2016). The coordination of various controlled actions and patterns in sports which are promoted by blending through communications support high performance in games. Coordination and effective communication in sports enable kids to adapt to better communication when interacting with various parties in society.

Sport teaches respect.

Apart from sports enlighten young kids about the basics of play, they also assist them to develop respect for the people in authority and instill adherence to norms and regulations just like rules in various games. At a tender age, kids who participate in sports are taught the consequences that accompany failure to follow the rules. Young sports participants are taught to respect their captains and coaches who guide them through perfecting their skills in the games (Neely, Kacey & Nicholas, 265). They are also taught to respect the sports officials who always ensure that games are conducted in fair plays. They are also taught to learn and appreciate good sportsmanship and always to treat their companions respectfully whether they win or lose. Adherence to various rules of the game and instructions make the kids develop a sense of respect for their colleagues and those in control.

Management of time

Individuals who participate in sports while young have been noted to be the best students about the management of their study schedules and time. Through participation in sports, young individuals learn aspects of time management and various disciplines retired to multiple games. Team members always assist each other in keeping record and performance of academic responsibilities and track schedules. Sports are played in controlled time frames, activities associated with sports have training sessions which are scheduled and timed plus participation in sports enable children to balance their time between studies and games. These structures enable young athletes to develop time management skills which they later utilize in life.

Gender Equality

Participation on sports by both genders brings a bridging point where children develop a sense of equality. When both genders excel equally or positively in the same sport, it creates a notion that not particular gender is inclined to perform in specific activities however it motivates both boys and girls that they can both achieve success if they are committed (Brenner & Joel, 2016). This attitude escalates to various aspects of the young athlete’s life that enhance positive competition and success in life. Male genders always strive to achieve a level of success that has been attained by their female counterparts and vice versa; this situation leads to positive competition among kids.

Motivation in life

Various success and activities associated with sports motivate young athletes to excel in multiple activities in life. Engaging in sports gives different people confidence in the achievement of multiple pursuits in later life which culminates to success (Verburgh & Lot et al 979). Excellence in sports encourages participants to engage in achieving more significant things in life through practice, dedication, and endurance. Various students who excel in sports have indicated incredible classroom performance and determination to pursue higher levels of education or focus in professional careers through sports.

Conclusion

The primary importance of sports in young athletes include Development of self-esteem, enhancement of leadership skills, development of leadership capabilities, development of stronger meaningful relationships, better communication strategies, instilling of respect and development of skills in time management. Most of the importance associated with young children indulging in sports is helpful even during later stages of human development. Sport-related activities support young children to have health good health since the regular exercise enable their muscles, heart, lungs and other body organs to develop into full functionalities.
