The reason why I chose this position is based on the fact that I have witnessed many inmates especially young people waste their life on crime  and they have ended up spending most of their time behind bars in their teenage or adulthood. As a young person, it has come to my realization that there is the need to control the perception and behavior of the youngsters in prisons by focusing on the cultural narrative and notion that shape most of their life making them perceive the world the way they do. There exist a wide gap between the plans that have been put in place to help the juveniles and the actual reason that landed them in prison. In this regard, correctional Case Manager should have a clear-cut understanding of the background, perception, and behavior of an inmate before deciding on the best program or course of action to help them (Moxley, 1989)
