Ethical leadership
DEFINITION:
Ethical leadership entails to the capability and the commitment of the company leaders to conduct and act ethically every time they are undertaking their responsibilities in the company.
Summary
There are various factors affecting organizations nowadays. The excessive and emergence of technologies in different organizations are causing ethical issues within workplaces. The author argues that leaders and management play an essential role when it comes to empowering ethical matters. The author further explains that the company which has leaders who value ethics, then, in the long run, there is a possibility of success. Ethical leaders sacrifice themselves to ensure that employees are moral, and the activities done within the organization are done ethically. It’s, therefore, good for the leaders and the management to act as a role model to the employees if they want the organization to be ethically fit. For the company to be right successful ways should be followed to ensure that things are done in a better way. The author’s opinions got weight and should be valued because the author teaches people how to be ethical in areas where they will be employees, not just leaders.
DISCUSSION:
The company needs to ensure that the leaders who are leading the company they are ethical enough/. The ethical leaders in the organization play a perfect role in the organization. When leaders are ethical, they show the right direction to the followers, and they guide towards the success of the company. But questions must arise in this situation where the assumption is made that only ethical leaders are the main factor towards the achievement of the company. The answer to such kind of question is obviously “no” because there re various factors which determines the success of the company. Other factors which cause the company to succeed include; management style, policies, stakeholders, organizational structure and many other factors. But the leaders of the organization plays a better role and directly affect the company processes and activities. The critical part of having ethical leaders is that the company will be bound to practice ethical culture which catalyzes organization success.
Ethical leaders, as well as encourage people in the organization to act in ethical ways as well. When leaders are ethical enough, they come up with ethical frameworks and steps of doing things in the company every time. The leaders of the company also play an essential role in establishing ethical guides and ensuring the unethical people are corrected or dealt with in the required manner. Organizational leaders face some issues while trying their best to ake the company ethical enough. Sometimes the leaders might be trying their best to be ethical, but people under them might not follow the correct path. It’s not a promising deal that when leaders are ethical, the employees as well are ethical. There are situations where an employee doesn’t follow what required from them. It’s the role of the top management to ensure that everyone behaves in the right way whether the leader or employee.
