games role in providing a balance between education and physical wellbeing
Besides studying, I love sports for both for enjoyment purposes and my physical fitness. Cricket is at the center of my love for the sport. Still, I enjoy and participate in other sporting activities such as football, chess, badminton, table tennis, and long-distance running. I would use sport to bring different needy students together. From this point, it would be easy to identify the destitute student by getting close to them. I believe games play an essential role in providing a balance between education and physical wellbeing.
Crime rates in my country are brought about by having many unemployed youths. Many people end up taking the wrong courses in university or colleges because of a lack of proper guidance while choosing the courses to pursue. If the student can get advice, especially while they are in their last term in high school, this would be easy for them. Lack of proper guidance from teachers and guardians is the leading cause of wrong decisions. Such an issue would have prevented by engaging with kids during their high school time. I have seen and heard my people complain about their career path.
The only way I can tell if my plan will and is working is to remain with these students for periods of 2-3 months. The interested students will continue, while those that are less patient will have left within this period. For me, education has been my top priority in life, and I have always strived to for an excellent performance.
Another way is t organize a tournament which will run for several months. I would divide the money into five parts
- Football winner will take$ 300 share amongst themselves
- Athletics where the position will take home 100, 2nd position $50, and 3rd position would pocket $30.
- Chase game 1 runner-up $100, 2nd runner-up $50 and third $30
- Volleyball team winner would take home $150
- Rugby team winner would pocket $150 as well
During this session, I would talk with various educations stakeholders to come and talk to these students once every month. By involving career experts, it would be easy to open the eye of the students.
After about three months, I would then form the sports team with the remaining students. The $945 would be enough to buy three footballs, three dozen pairs of t-shirts, one spike shoes, and the goalpost net. This would be enough to encourage them to always come together in the evening and practice. By meeting up daily for training will ensure their mind is occupied, hence have no time to think of involving themselves in drugs. As time goes, the student gets to realize them. Some will later join colleges, and those willing to continue with sporting will have a better platform to showcase their talents.
Some student complains about being forced to take a particular course in college, which results in failure or dropout. Most of the government-sponsored students end up taking the wrong courses because they have to stick to the course that was not their best choice.
Through the interactions, I would get to understand most students and what they love to do when free and what they wish to do as their career. My dream is to see every needy student has gone up to college level where they get a diploma/ degree and get a job. It is my dream to form an NGO in the future that will be visiting various schools to talk to the students about their careers journey.
