Kingdom of God

One of the things that intrigued me and led to a lot of question from the reading concerns the statement on our theologies and the focus on individual and the eternal with the objective of avoiding God’s  key concerns relating to the global and historic will being performed on earth as similar to heaven. Thus, the more individuals won towards the theologies will translate to less number of individuals caring about the present God’s world. This turn out to be an intriguing excerpt from the study given that a number of individuals and even preachers have gone one to preach and win individuals towards their theologies devoid of gaining the full understanding of the will of God, its manifestation and how it can be achieved on earth here and now. This has the implication that by converting an increased number of people devoid of understanding the will of God, one tends to not only make the world worse but also becomes the enemy of God as this is not what God intended to achieve.

One of the vital questions that the excerpt of the reading raises regards how one may determine God’s will and convert others while making sure that Gods will on earth is well understood by the converts. This question is vital given that it is bound to enable preachers understand God’s will and purpose for humans on earth, and work towards converting individuals to enable the attainment of the will.

Lastly, one of the things I tend to disagree with in relation to the readings regards McLaren’s definition of the Kingdom of God. McLaren believes that as a phrase, the Kingdom of God is the image of Jesus that is aimed at bringing the eternal, historic, global and individual together. I tend to agree with this view based on the observation the God is the creator of heaven and earth and therefore, the phrase is purposefully used to refer to His abode in Heaven and creations on earth.
