Besides, the article has a response on the attack. There is an omission of pictures and videos of the attack. The event is presented in the article by a staff of history.com in 2010. The article views Islamic extremists as the perpetrators of this attack against the U.S.A. The article points out those four planes are hijacked and two fly into the WTC. The third plane was directed towards pentagon and the fourth one crashed in Pennsylvania field. About 3000 individuals die during the attack forcing the U.S to fight against terrorism. There is a bias in this article as there allegation against the Islamic extremist that has not yet been confirmed. Moreover, it exposes Islamic religion as a hub for terrorists.

It also portrays Islamic as extremists and terrorists. The article construct different perceptions for example, it gives one an idea that terrorists come from the Islamic extremists. Another perception is that the attack was well coordinated and it needed an insider from the U.S. Also, it gives the reader the idea that the attack targeted big personalities and a bigger population. There is a natural stereotype that exists about Islamic extremists and terrorism. The U.S as a country believes that all terrorisms are executed by Islamic networks. The 9/11 terrorist attacks. BBC.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/events/the_september_11th_terrorist_attacks

The article presents the events that took place on 11th September, 2001. Two of the planes were directed to twin towers where they crashed while the third targeted the pentagon. Unfortunately, the fourth one never hit the intended target but crashed in Pennsylvania. There is a view that the fourth plane missed the target as the crew and passengers took over from the hijackers. A bias exists on the suspicion that the Al Qaeda was responsible for the attack. It is explained in the article that it is a suspicion and not a confirmed fact. The article intends to show the audience why and how the attack took place. The article also intends to expose Al Qaeda network as terrorists and enemies of states having relationship with the U.S.

A perception created by this article is that there is a war between America and Al Qaeda. Moreover, the reader perceives power in the control of Economic stability by U.S.  Nevertheless, there has been a notion that all attacks on American soil are executed by the Al Qaeda. Another stereotype is that all other attacks that have happened in U.S embassies were executed by the same enemies. The attitude that America has an impeccable intelligence is challenged in this article as the attackers were able to study their security and counter it. In addition, the production context drives political views as the article tends to concentrate on the terror act and why war is declared on al-Qaeda . A limitation of this article is that it concentrates on one terrorist group which exposes its biasness. The BBC news website is modest on terrorist as they do not discuss the event exhaustively. For instance, they only include one video and symbolic attacks labeled as suspicious. Moreover, there is an omission of flight 93 event and responses by the U.S government on the terror attack.

Alan Taylor, 2011. 9/11: The Day of the Attacks. https://www.theatlantic.com/photo/2011/09/911-the-day-of-the-attacks/100143/

The Atlantic is detailed in its presentation. It covers even pictures of the events. For instance, there are pictures of flight 175, flight 77 and flight 93 events. The article represents the way terrorists cause destruction that affects humans and the world at large. There is bias as it also points out on the executers as the al-Qaeda. The article intends to show how the dark event has led to the new world of today. It also intends to portray the al-Qaeda as an instrument of destruction and a common enemy. It can be perceived from the article that the attackers targeted main landmarks to attack. Also, there is a perception that the attackers countered the security structure of the U.S to gain access to their planes. The article stereotypes al-Qaeda as it has been a long time idea that it is a terrorist network.

The pictures in this article create a negative attitude about the attackers as merciless and destruction oriented. Besides, an attitude that U.S has the best intelligence has been challenged in the article as four planes were much for a sophisticated intelligence. The production context is one that condemns terrorism and is driven by political views from the pictures posted. The Atlantic tends to be biased as they support the views of the U.S as a government.
