Online vs. Traditional classes
Technology has been a great impact on our lives and it has become the most addictive part of this society as well, we can learn and do so many productive things on the internet that they even made our crazy lives easier for school! Online classes have come a long way through the years, but are they the better than a traditional class?
In traditional classes, students often seek academic clarification for assignment concepts or if the instructions are unclear, the personalities of the instructors made a larger impact for the students with face-to-face communication, that creates a difference in the dynamic of every class. Students often are voluntarily participating in the discussions or ask and answer questions. Students most of the time are saying that books and classroom notes in a traditional class are very useful for studying and passing exams, understanding questions or even find suggestions from the instructor, that students find the most helpful to learn than generalizing online notes.
In online classes, however; students have more flexibility with their study habits, classwork / homework than the students in the traditional classes. Yes: students in the online classes have the same time schedule of when the assignments are due, but they also have leverage for working on their assignments when they have a free chance to do so and often get to choose what time they have classes, but do not have the face-to-face communication with their instructors that students would have in a traditional classroom.
However; traditional classes as like online classes have the same amount of work and are giving and receiving feedback as well as their learning experience and rewards from both of their environments. Both require that students manage their time wisely. “While some studies show online students slightly outperforming their traditional classroom counterparts, most indicate that there is little difference in overall performance between the two formats, according to the American Sociology Association”.
