The Beauty and The Beasty a fairy-tale film acted by Jean Cocteau in 1946 in France.  The film was acted at the time when the impacts of computer and modern creatures make ups were inexistence. Cocteau uses live imaginary that has trick shots and amazing properties to describe the Beast who had features of a lonely man but with misunderstand like an animal. The actor in The Beauty and The Beast aimed to reveal his message concerning the suffering the people had during the Second World War using the French tale. Cocteau echoed his message by bring themes such as love, appearance, community, sacrifice, and exile (Cocteau and Madame Le prince 54). Motives and symbols which includes rose flower, and the magic mirror were used to put emphasis on activities which took place in the film.

The theme of love was clearly describe through all the romantic aspects that came clearly from the film. The two character Belle and the Beast were at first not in good terms as they hated each other so much but later joined by the aspect of love. The characters were all informed about the idea of love since Belle was beloved not because of her beauty but the kind and gently heart she had shown to the Beast. On the other had the best was a beat slow in revealing his adoration but he made sure he attains that rose petal in her before the love falls. Apart from romantic affection, the familial love is well depict since Belle was dedicated to her father to an extent she accepted to be a prisoner in the Beast’s Chateau de Creepy just because of trading with him. The enchanted knickknacks were not left behind in the phase of love, they liberated each other just because of the affections they had to each other.

The theme of exile which can be physical or emotional is displayed in this film through the lifestyle of the Beast. The Beast had no idea of civilization since in his entire life he was comfortably held in his castle. Furthermore, the Beast used the magic mirror to see and reflect every activity that took place in the rest of the world. The Beast isolated himself from other human being through the enchantress and snow. On the other side Belle was mobile through towns but she was not really associated those places she visited. Generally, the big story in the all film is about exile where most people had interests of finding new community where they belong apart from just few individuals who were symbolic.

The theme of appearance was elaborated by the actor through different characters. For instance, the monster had a heart that resemble gold while the handsome hero looked like a supreme jerk. The inside and outside beauty of Belle was real far apart as compared to how she appeared. However, the rubes in Belle’s town was sent into flaps just because of the brain that Belle had in her brain and her affection for books. The theme of appearance was also displayed by the bad guys (Gaston and his cronies in town) when they witnessed the marriage that was unlucky that the odd woman tried on the first scene. Most people in this film were shallow and viewed things, which were showing, apart from only the few wise who went deeper to concentrate on the souls without considering the facts those souls should only be owned by the talking tea cups.

The other serious theme that was emphasized clearly in this film is the theme of community. Beauty and the Beast had no faith and trust in the community they leaved. The actor really tried to emphasize the importance of the community and how tight-knit towns had firm stand against the idea of miscellany as they criticized anyone who is different or odd. The people in the film had common feature which include pigheaded, shallow, pretty, judgmental that Gaston associated to outcomes of murderous. Contrasting, in the caste people hanged themselves through thick trees and snows. Belle did not leave in housewares-department instead in the whole film she struggles to find her home. Belle later found later a home with singing cutlery that was different from that owned by Gaston.

Belle describes the theme of sacrifice when she forgone her freedom and right to save her father just because of the need to adventure, which was her second nature apart from that of love. The Beast also forewent his strong love to Beauty when he decided to give her a golden chance to leave freely before things were made clear. The Beast and Beauty sacrifice for love was a clearly indication that they meant every single word they said and as a mean of diverging from pesky old curse.

The rose flower, magic mirror, and transformation contributed much in describing the real activities and ideologies that dominated the film. Roses in the film symbolized the love and mystery where love was describe as rose petals. At the time romance was at its peak the actor describe it as the booming roses which wilts later signifying mystery or fading of love. Other than rose flower, the magic window represented a window to all luck and valuable things which he had and a reflection of the things he lost in the castle. Furthermore, the symbol of transformation describes vividly the inner world people leave and the manner their personality disappeared below the surface impression.

The film (The Beauty and The Beast) gives a reflection of most things that dominate the current world. The falling the rose petal symbolizes the love breakage which real happen in the society. Cocteau also describes the way people appear in different occasions as they sacrifice what they have for the sake of love and adventure (Hearne, Betsy Gould, and Larry 86). The societies should be thought several aspect of life basing ideologies from this film.
