Uniforms globally are meant for identity and uniqueness. Though school uniforms deny children self-expression, it undermines self-esteem and diversity through clothing. Schools create and strive to create a conducive environment for learning; therefore, school uniforms are part of the elements that create learning environment hence children must wear school uniform because they enhance the conducive learning environment, enables discipline, creates a sense of oneness, leads to distinction and its economic
According to Bauman & Krskova (2016), Children wearing uniforms listened better and recorded high performance academically. The right learning environment created by uniforms attributes this. It removes children’s urge to compete on the latest trends in fashion, thus making more time in learning.
School uniforms play a vital role when it comes to discipline in schools. Children in uniform raise their expectations of what is required of them on how to behave. According to French toast Official school wear (2014) Children in uniform tend to be calmer, polite, attentive and more confident in themselves thus more discipline
Sense of oneness. Uniform gives a sense of belonging. Children in uniform can work and learn as a team. Uniform inspire a sense of togetherness, and loyalty to the school is developed. It also removes pressure from children on what to wear and deters insults on dressing because someone cannot insult what he-she is wearing Cloe (, 2013).
School uniforms are an essential item in school identity. Every school has its uniform, mission statement, vision, and logo. Uniform plays a more significant role in children in achieving this objective. In the quest to make this objective, school uniforms became beneficial in children because it is leveler of all children regardless of background, the dress is just uniform, not a fashion statement.
School uniforms save parents a lot of cash that might have been used in buying dresses and cloths for children every day, and this is more economical because children dress on them over and over again.
