The earth Science
The earth Science topic that I am interested in researching is on Earthquake. An earthquake refers to the shaking of the surface of the earth as a result of the energy released from the earth’s lithosphere. Earthquakes can be of different ranges; some can be small that they cannot be felt while others can be violent enough to destroy an entire city. I will base my research on what causes earthquakes. I would also research on why some places receive earthquakes occasionally while others rarely fell or get earthquakes. I will also research on what causes some earthquakes to be small in size while others are very violent. My research will also base on the different types of earthquakes, the aftermath of an earthquake, if the earthquake can be predicted, and if they can get avoided.
I would base my research on sources like books and articles that talk about the earthquake. The first book I will use is Susan Hough’s books on the science of Earthquake prediction. The book speaks on different kinds of earthquakes and how one can be able to predict the occurrence of an earthquake. I will also use articles by Onhanka, the Physics of rock failure, and earthquakes. The article talks about the constitutive law of earthquake rupture and the process of earthquake generation. Lastly, I will also use Lynn R. Sykes’s book as my source. The book is plate tectonic and great earthquakes, and it illustrates the theory of the formation and implications of an earthquake. Using these articles, I will be able to conduct my search on Earthquakes as an Earth science topic.
