Criteria and effects of various substance abuse to persons who take it

This article reviews the criteria and effects of various substance abuse to persons who take it in areas such as behavioral patterns after the intake of these drugs. The study encompasses ten separate drugs and multiple disorders that occur and are divided into substance-related and substance use disorders.

In both groupings (adults and young people), all drugs taken in excess have a characteristic activation of the brain, and several behavioral patterns are seen to occur, such as feelings of pleasure. In adolescents, these drugs cause addiction and bring about craving, which leads to these teenagers always wanting to take these drugs. Adolescents, who are possibly first-time drug users, show very little evidence of intoxication I .ie in alcohol. However, adults who tend to drink more, have slurred speech and incoordination.

Substance usage disorders involve vast problems that arise from drug usage. They include taking the drugs in more massive amounts than usual, but one tends to try and cut down this usage, but the addiction has already occurred. Craving, which results from too much intake, makes one feel like going back to substance intake. Other effects such as reduced social time, involvement in hobbies and social activities, and reduced academic performances are observed. Teenagers tend to continue the usage of drugs even if they know the physical and psychological problems that are likely to occur.
