On the other hand, high school and college education have vivid differences as far as the course is concerned. High school course depicts education at a lower advanced level. At this level education is offered on different subjects at different levels. There are different stages in high school, the lower stage, and the upper stage. College education is more advanced and therefore tertiary. In colleges, there is specialization in the course whereas there is no specialization in high school. Students major in different courses of their choice and passion. This is always done after academic excellence at the high school level. Students specialize in different fields like engineering, medicine, social fields, etc. For instance in medicine field, Medical school typically takes four years to complete; then there is a 3 to 7-year residency after that, where students undergo thorough and supervised training in their specific field of focus. The education received is intensive, quality and full-time activity. The classes in this field are both classroom and lab based giving you both academic and first-hand knowledge of the human body. In high school, there is no specialization. A student takes the courses offered by the federal education board. This applies to both public and private high schools. Some of the courses include mathematics, English, business and social sciences. In high school testing is frequent and covers a small amount of worker, whereas, in the college level, Testing is usually infrequent and may be cumulative, covering large amounts of material.

The two learning levels also differ in the mode of study. A college involves a lot of research in the relevant field. Students are required to contact survey and present the data analysis on the course, through this they back up and validate the theory learned in class. Studies at the college level are more of research and practical work. However, there is some little argument. In the medical field, several researches have been done especially on different lines of therapies like chemotherapy regimens and adjuvant therapy. On the other hand, high school education is very theoretical and less practical. More work is done in classes rather than in fields. It is only in science course where practical in laboratories have been conducted. They two levels of the study also differ in principles of education. In high school, the Guiding principle is all about efforts. Courses are usually structured to reward good-faith effort. In colleges, the guiding principle results in counts. It is all about the end results. At the end of this level, the end results should be excellent to meet the requirements in the relevant job market.

In high school, classes are assigned to the student. The proper authority supplies classrooms materials and books. Guidance counselor advises the students which courses to take and when. In college, it is the student’s responsibility to sign up for the classes he or she needs to take to graduate. The student is responsible for buying all class materials. Any assistance or advice required by the student from a professional, he or she is required to make an appointment. High school teachers are a little more accommodating to their students than college professors.  High school teachers are close to the students. They always have closed personal details of each student. They also monitored student’s grades and attendance. In college level, a student is required to go for internships and attachments for practical application of the skills gained in the course. This also helps break the monotony and boredom of the class. In high school level, there are no internships or attachments and only class work is done. In college level, a student is assigned a degree after completion of the relevant course. In high school level, only a diploma is offered after the completion of the level.
