Introduction

            Social worker profession promotes social change and problem-solving in human relationship, empowering and liberalization of people to enhance well-being in the society. The writer is a social worker he works with the physically challenged in the community .In this book different actions and decisions have been performed by the social workers. The social workers in their activities are described having the following ethical values (Grobman, 2005). Respect is familiar with the characters in this book. They are showing respect to both their clients and their fellow employees and the management. It fosters the good relationship and makes them enjoy their career. Fairness, Social work professional serve all people in the society.

According to this book, this value is practiced. The social workers are treating all people. Equally, there are no cases of discrimination based on either gender or social status all people famous in the community C’s child, are treated equally (Oliver et al 2012). The social workers are caring, they are devoted to their work; they have passion. Characters in this book are described showing care to the disabled in the society. The writer while in her job is assisting character A in making an appointment for B. He is also returning the call of the woman who called. He says that support is the key issue for families who have special needs.

Citizenship is a core value in the social work profession. Social workers see themselves as part of the community by knowing the laws and obeying them .The writer gives equal treatment to characters C, D and F. Honesty, the writer through answering the client’s calls, is very honest (Oliver et al 2012). The author is promising to continue still helping people with disabilities to improve their life as he keeps improving his life.

The value of Integrity is evident in the social workers profession .The social worker is balancing the home and the work. They are not having cases of self-interest. He has no issues of self-interest the author is working 24 hours. Respect the social workers are showing respect to both their clients and their fellow employees and the management. Thus fosters the healthy relationship and makes them enjoy their career (Oliver et al 2012). These values are similar to the six core values of the social work profession as listed in the Social Worker Code of Ethics. We can therefore say that for the social work to be effective he need such core values.

Every social worker is made to give the best to the community. To achieve the principal goal of this profession, one needs to pass through specific areas of knowledge.  To be shaped by what actions and decisions to take in his career. Some clients need special attention and quick decision to be made this puts the social worker in the high order thinking(Oliver et al 2012) .To solve the challenge entirely to meet the needs of the community members. Several areas are used to validate the people in this profession.

Training is the most important part in this field. The people working in this career need to be trained.Training incorporate skills such as good communications with the community member’s .In the book social workers allow parents to make their decision on their family and children. In the real life, the situation person gains knowledge on the issue of concern in the social work (Grobman, 2005). In daily activities, a social worker can observe another person as a role model and try to imitate him. For instance, in this book, there is interdisciplinary team employees learn from one another.

Having long time expertise in this gives an individual ability to give best to the community. Having adequate skills in this field helps one to tackle all issues and problems in the society (Oliver et al 2012). The writer has shaped to this profession by becoming up through the rank; he had eight years of experience as line worker before he was qualifying for the supervisory role. Attending seminars and conferences also give chances to social workers to learn and gain expertise in this field. During such conference issues of great importance are discussed, and a lot of knowledge is gained. The writer is representing the employer at a professional conference in New Orleans (Grobman, 2005). Information technology is mostly used to shape the career of an individual. The Internet is used to store data. The use of mobile phone computer software is useful in this area of profession. The people in this field are using a cell phone to pass information. The writer uses a computer to save data, file record of his social work.

Some of the procedures and techniques used by social workers involve problem-solving, forming groups, using influence and understanding the power dynamics and social relations that govern the relationships between diverse communities and working to achieve social justification and competence through structural change (Oliver et al 2012). Social workers use the belief that people with a common problem and acting together have a high-level capacity to improve their circumstances since they have the first-hand knowledge about the status of their situation and amendments to be done to improve that situation. Some of the procedures that social workers put into consideration are the identification of leaders, creating community awareness and building community capacity.

In the context, the writer spends a lot of his time contacting potential and resourceful personalities and authors including the person with disabilities for the betterment and welfare of the community. The author also puts into practice elements of a good social worker. These include organization, communication, empathy and active listening (Grobman, 2005). For instance, the write employs the virtue of active listening to clients and also communication, especially when he contacts potential contributors via phone, fax, email and internet; he also conducts Minnesota, an editor who assists the writer in retyping.

Through forming groups and social relations, “parent to parent” programs are initiated. This program provides trained and competent support from one parent to the other. Also, other organizations are formed to offer information and aid to persons with disability. They also offer parent support and transport required (Oliver et al 2012). There is a vigorous and steady cohesion among the clients since their relationship continues for long after the group has ended. Also, the writer outlines that he loves the field of supported employment. According to the writer tells us about community job done by members of his staff who were united and firmly with a common goal. I can honestly picture doing this job.  Teamwork greatly works out, especially for the ordinary high joint purpose. In the context, the writer loves the field of supported employment (SE).He further outlines that the job was immensely rewarding, and his team was enjoying the job.

Working as a social worker builds one’s experience and skills in community work. The writer works as a director of social services for the nonprofit agency. The author has developed skills in contacting, potential clients and writers; the writer also monitors old professionals for new ones. He also follows the whole internet .The writer has inbuilt experience such that he can supervise thirteen projects, he says that that it was incredibly rewarding.

As a social worker, one explores and learns many virtues and how to apply them practically in the field. In the writer portrays the virtue of empathy, critical thinking, and tolerance when he decides to go and face the therapist on behalf of the client who had delayed the two-time appointment with the therapist. He has a clear understanding of the family client since he outlines that the family of the latter was not in good condition and had to spend time struggling to meet the very basic needs (Grobman, 2005). Although developmental studies were not widely publicized or acknowledged among social workers according to the context, social workers have a significant role in serving the community irrespective of the environment.
