interviewing one of the elite families in the country Audrey Winston
For this assignment I decided to interview one of the elite families in the country Audrey Winston who has two siblings that is Dorothy and Elizabeth. This family is a good example of how life has been changing among different families in the past centuries and how it has affected the opinion and the attitude of others. However it is much obvious that the family patterns as explained in the interview displays a lot of social changes, inequality and family structures that has been happening in United States since the year 1980s.As seen from interview is that Audrey Winston our interviewee comes from the elite class whereby they have a wider range of social connection within their family structure. Audrey is married to a lawyer and some of her two sisters are still married to high class a professional personnel which means that the family ties are of high connection when compared to other family structure.
Audrey comes from a well of family or rather a capitalist class of social structure since her father William is an engineer and her mother a worker in the university which made her and her two sisters attend high class schools. This is a true definition that Audrey and her family from a well off background which means that the family wealth will keep on rotating within the generations for a long period of time. Audrey has parents in law in big professionals and her two sisters married to very big people who run big business in the country therefore incase of any family help or their children want something they have easy and quick access because of the big connections they have within the country. In United States there is a big difference when it comes to social class and family structures since on the other extended family with pink show how they have low connections more so when looking at their professions such as truck drivers. Audrey comes from a capitalists or corporate class of people from her background which influenced her dating life and marriage hence marrying a person of her class in the society.
Also through the interview one is able to notice some big gap that exists in terms of inequalities because the capitalists tend to control the big portion of the country resources unlike the middle class and lower class people. In the late 1980s most of the older generation like the people with 65 years and above used to live in poverty before the governments decide to initiate new programs that support them like pension plans and elderly programs that take care of their needs. In United States poverty is also distributed through race and ethnicity since according to most studies and the wealth is distributed in high amounts among the whites than the African Americans and Latinos. Also it is clear that people in the same class tend to interact and associate with each other just in the same of Audrey who has college mate who is married and still runs big business in the country.
In conclusion it is apparent that family structures has been changing for the past centuries and these has affected the way people interact and associate with each other. Moreover the changes in social structures influences a person career, dating life and many intimate relationship which contributes a lot towards personal development or the future of an individual.
