immigrants in America
Introduction
As is the case with many immigrants in America, two English brothers moved to California to seek better economic opportunities for themselves and their families. An idea that begun with a movie business progressed to a chain of restaurant businesses popularly known as McDonald’s. Today, business experts rank the restaurant as one of the most valuable brands operating over thirty-thousand outlets and recording billions of income revenues each year. However, alongside this immense industry success comes sharp criticism about its core area of business. Increasingly, health organizations and professionals have indicated the gravity of the issue of obesity among the U.S. population. The fast foods that are served by restaurants such as McDonald’s contain large amounts of fats and sugars that drive the intake of unhealthy calories into the human system. These calories lead to weight gain, which, in worse cases, leads to obesity. Indeed, these restaurants have a significant role to play in the current obesity epidemic.
Thesis Statement
Nonetheless, fast food restaurants such as McDonald’s do not have the responsibility to serve less calorie-laden foods since other multiple intervening factors drive up the obesity statistics among the U.S. population.
