Introduction

Every student should have an exposure to the filed attachment in order to advance their skills. Working in a placement gives the student morale and motivation towards achieving their dream career. A s a student in centennial college, it was my pleasure to get placement in the college restaurant. The local café and restaurant is located in Centennial college 937 progress avenue, Toronto. Working at the local café and restaurant for the last few months has been of help to my career enhancement in su chef. The institution offered me this chance to join the team of fellow talented workers based on my passion interest and hobby. In this journal I am going to reflect on my behavior at the work place, my career development goals, ethical and professional behavioral at the work place. Moreover I will discuss on my experience in Leadership roles and the staffs behavior. This were some of the key concept that were taught at my course, and applying them in real life situation can really make an impact in one’s life

Professional and ethical behavior in the workplace was also fully manifested as I was having my placement.I USED TO Read the company magazine to get the requiremnts skill requiremnts of the kitchen staff and other careers.I could  also Ask and enquire from the fellow students on their reviews based on the chefs skills and professional behavior .Through my daily activities I could Observe the chefs and line cooks talking to one another ,this helped me towards capturing the relevant ,skill and in my proffesion how they express them selves .I WAS previledged to Observe the relationship and treatment of workers by their boss and management  .To test my skills I could Advise my teammates on some of the professional skills I learned in class and how they could be applied in the restaurant working environment . GENRALLY I ENJPYED  THE Advancement of my knowledge through attending the locally organized seminars and forums by the restaurant official and management.AS I Also participated in creation of awareness on the best ethical behavior in the kitchen I felt that I man fit in the place of placement and my career.

In the Goals setting  topic  I could anlyse my weekly lessons and my career as a su chef ,I had set some personal goals ,which were to guide me through my course work,placemnt period and even afet the placement period is over.As enter into th job market I could apply the goals and targets I had set inlife to make ends meet.Career trining and exposure to overcoming any possible challenge on the gola setting could help me achivedall my goals.I also worked close with my tema mebers who always enhanced and congratuelted me on the tasks we suscesfuly completed together.I also had an opportunity of making enquiring frot my chef and his fellow senor ckithcen staff to know how I should be applying ethical behavira,and at what peespectives or environemnts.intrestingly  I enjoyed being bing told of my mistakes and getting corrected as per my supervisors suggestin,this made my stay at the placement area vey enjoyable

It is important to understand ones  role in the work place,at the college restaurant ,I wokedd nder some rsposnisbileite as a su chef .these reponsibilites and roles prepared my for future endvpurs in the job market.I was reposnble to work to gether with my fellow cooks to make meals as suggested by the men andiitinaly I was also responsible for cleaning the leftovers in the restaurant  lastly in my placemnt I could also chop some vegitbales,or meet to praper the meal

As part of my role I loved working together  with my supervisor in  preparing sauces .i participated in Setting up stcokin g station with the reqlevant supplies .genrally as a cook   I COULD ANLAYSE MYSELF BASED ON MY ASSIGNEMT ROLES AND  thought  I was ready to face the competitive joIn market AS A PROFFESINAL COOK.

Career development

I was trined on how to prpare and make my resume .this   was done during an organized treingn by the kitchen stuffs .I was able to recive this important skills that could ensure that I get into my best possible career in future.I could apply what I leaned in leadership course .This guides me in wring and updating my resume,envisioning y futre and job searching which could b very necessary to me.I ws capable of understanding my strenths and competiencies and anlyse my personal job related skills .Additionaly learning about the transferable skills enabled me have strust in my self .and grow career wise knowing that my resume can give me an opportunity of proving my selfe in any interview .generally from caerr development I was trined on how to present my self in the interviews,how to write my resume using the following information.Contact information,skills summary,work experience and advanced skills ,all these skills anfd knowledge made me update my resume based on my new placement and new skills earned.I think this is very important to any student out there as it gudes us on meeting our visionary future .

Examining workplace relationship PLAYS A MAJOR role in unsderstanding ones caerrer development and work relationship.FIRSTLY could reflect what we leaned in week 8 ,9 and 10 and 11 .in my placemnt insittuiin I was happy to apply all I leanerd in class on workplace relation ,I leaned about the communication skills on the workplace I was very observant and keen to meet the compnies expectation on me.

I SHOWED GOOD Listening and speaking  AS WELL AS Non verbal comuications THAT IMLEAEDEND THROUGH SEMINARS AND FORUMS ORGANIZED BY THECOMPNY .moreover in every workplace there are likely hood of violences arising.I WAS TRINED ON the right methods to handle and settle conflicts at the work place,I could observe my co workers do the same. On skills I leabed was Workigntowards peaceful resolutions and seting negotiation platiforms based on the outocomes of the resolution of conflict.LeaRning about the importance of  Decision making in the workplace enhanced my knowledge on relationship with fellow workers.I was also taught the benefit of working in grous and tema mbemed=ser when devlivering some services.ANY RESPOBSIBLE LEADER IN THE WORKPLACE SHOULD HAVE ADevelopED  alternative process of decision making .

Leadership at work

OBSEVING Leadership characteristics AT THE WORKPLACE CAN easily transform ones role and character.AS A LEANER AND SOMEONE WITH goals of becoming a leader inone day I could observe the leadership in the kithcn staffts.How they manged the fellow workers and the clients .THIS WAS MY HIGH TIME TO SEE THE TYPES OF LEADERS AND THEIR PRACTISES AND LEARN THT LEADERS ARE BORN AND CAN BE MADE.

I also obseverd that my suoervisor was havingan excellent leadership skills and I could bowwro a lot from him.he futher aadvised me on the best leadership skills and practices as wel as encouranging me to focus on working effectively and effvinly ad theis could lead to me getting job pronotion .I was happy to leanr about the leadership demands on leaders as this is what guides the leader in the society,to work towards meeting the employer expectation and standards.generally leanring about leadership in my placement motivated me to wards getting some intreat in becoming a leadr one day.

Conclusion

Based on my placement at the local restaurant at centennial college I believe that .I was capable of putting everything leaned in class in a practical state. THOUGH THE GUIDE OF MY Supervisors and coworkers I was capable of meeting the goals I had set and show my skills of my team member and the management of the restaurant .having acquired the relevant experience in my career I trust in my self that now I can get fully in the field
