Cultural Artifact that is personal to you
It’s supposed to be a story essay talking about a cultural artifact that is personal to you. The essay is supposed to follow multiple cultural experiences you have had and how the artifact has influenced you. I am Greek Orthodox so I wanted to use the prayer rope bracelet Komboskini. The artifact is a prayer rope bracelet consisting of 33 knots that are hand woven. I learned how to create this from my cousin while I was at camp. I also visited greece where I went around to different churches and got these bracelets blessed. I wanted to talk about how this bracelet allowed me to develop a sense of community within Greek culture. This bracelet allowed me to strengthen my relationship with myself along with those of my family and my religion. I have a start and some random sentences but I find it impossible to turn it into a full essay.
