Personal literacy journey
Four years of my English studies at Donholm college amounts to eight semesters. The sequence of my progressive development in writing skills vividly unfolds in my mind as I sit down to answer the questions of what the four years depict to my journey in writing. My initial composition was obstinate to particular topics that I was conversant with besides being proficient. Much of Donholm’s tasks, however, involved working around complex ideas that I didn’t have even the slightest idea. The development of a plot would be interrupted by eventual breaks. The write up would then start with a jot of a rough idea whose content would crop up my mind while off the assignment desk. Leaks would come up in momentum between slip and slide, sip and swallow, stick and lacerate. A few of the shocking contemplations would get out of hand even before I note them down; others would support my piece work. Definitively Donholm English office has not exclusively been a notional wellspring of humiliation yet more significantly a wellspring of fundamental sustenance for the development and improvement as a writer.
It would be lessening not to express that professor Reagans’ first composing experience was the most captivating snapshot of my first-year contemplates. During the first quarter of the semester, Reagan called upon his understudies to assault him. He expected us to reprimand him from an individual point of view in an intensive arrangement. I was exasperated since I was not used to the composing. At first, the composing was challenging to comprehend, not because of an absence of substance. Reading ‘comedy of errors’ by William Shakespeare was an entirely different take to professor Reagan. Perhaps the most interesting instance is where Mama, against the audience expectation, trusts Walter with $6500, knowing that he will invest in liquor. The last paper was the most excellent piece that won me an opportunity to make an introduction to the university’s writing symposium.
