CREATING AND CIRCULATING A MUSEUM

Introduction

Gender inequality is a social construct. These societal expectations of gender identity could be changed. Many nations in the modern world are championing courses for women empowerment. The community has realized it is time we end gender segregation and acknowledge the beauty of feminism. I intend to create and curate my museum. It shall be focused on building an art collection that relates and reflects how human civilization has had an impact on social constructs. The exhibits shall give the visitors a chance to reflect on the beauty of our female counterparts. This paper focuses on five pieces of art that I shall use to curate in my museum. They will be a representation of human civilization and the empowerment of the female character in society.

Art Description

Art is a representation of changes experienced by humanity regarding civilization. Arts from Egypt are the best representation of changing civilization. That is the reason, my first art to curate, is the ancient Osiris. Osiris was one of the most significant Egyptian deities and represented the underworlds. He was a symbolic representation of the Nile floods in Egypt. Myths from Egypt hold that his brother killed Osiris, but then resurrected by his wife Isis, by reassembling his body. (Hart, 2005). This art embodies the traditional chores exhibited by Isis. In the modern world where chores have been shared, the art of Osiris represents the civilization humanity has undergone.

The second art to curate in my museum is that from Pachis Charalambos. Pachis is classified among one of the most influential artists of the modern world in Greece. I would choose his picture named “Alamy Stock Photo.” It is a picture of a young woman graciously with her hands akimbo. She is in a glamorous ancient Greek dress. The portrait is a representation of the beauty of feminism. Moreover, art is a clear representation of the civil society have undergone, in comparison with the ancient times. Furthermore, it represents the influence of western stylistic in the Greek world of art.

Similarly, the effect of human civilization during the 18^th century was impacted in Rome. Romans infused the British stylistic arts during this period. Most of these arts gave a foundation for portfolio sketches, painting collections and inspired teaching materials in Rome and other parts of the globe. (Haskell, 2000).  “Roman School,” an 18^th-century old master painting, is the third piece of art to curate in my museum. As earlier indicated, art influenced many changes in the way of human living. It impacted on the teaching materials, by laying the ground for inspirations. This piece of art is a representation of inspiration and desire for knowledge.

When it comes to British, art was a symbol of societal integration among individuals. It showed togetherness and oneness in their endeavours. One art that is a perfect epitome of the oneness of the Britons is “The Brothers Clarke With Other Gentlemen Taking Wine,” by Gawen Hamilton. (Cannon-Brookes, 1998).  It is a portrait of gentlemen in a round table, enjoying a drink together. The mood in the portrait is presented to be peaceful and a great deal of unity.

George Romney was a Greek art painter who was well renowned for his work. One of his very fine pieces of art is the “Lady Hamilton as Circe.” The portrait is a representation of the beauty of feminism. (Herring, 1978).  We are in an era where most nations have been so enthusiastic about empowering women. Therefore, this portrait would make the best impression in my museum.

The Art Display

In the modern world, where many nations are very concerned about equal rights for all genders, it would be very enticing to have portraits that support the empowerment of women on the front. I would not place the arts grouped. This is because each person visiting the museum needs enough time to reflect on the message of each piece. Therefore, the portrait of Lady Hamilton would be placed on the forefront, followed by the Alamy stock photo. This gives clients and visitors sufficient time to reflect on the beauty of feminism, thus understanding the significance of empowering women. The other pieces of work shall be placed individually in a strategic position after the first two arts. This will allow visitors to have ample time to feel the impact civilization has had on women.

Responsibilities as the Founder and Curator

The museum needs a person to take care of the art gallery. As the museum curator, it is my responsibility to be in charge of the collection of exhibits. I am tasked with building up a collection for my museum. I am responsible for working with other experts in areas such as conservation, education and designing. My art gallery shall include exhibits that have a specific theme to the society. They will cover the impact of human civilization on women of society. That way, my museum shall be part of the teams championing for the empowerment of women and gender equality. Therefore, as the museum founder, it is my responsibility to lay down the objectives, goals and vision of the museum to all the stakeholders. As the founder, the tasks of management, marketing and planning are in my shoulders.

Overly, art is the representation of human civilization. Human civilization has had an impact on gender, especially women. Many nations in the modern world are enthusiastic about women’s empowerment. Therefore, I intend my museum to be part of the team that champions this course.
