Distance learning
Distance learning is a formalized mode of learning that takes place remotely with the aid of electronic communication methods. Most people still prefer traditional education, as they may not be fully aware of the benefits and conveniences of online learning. In my opinion, online training is more convenient, especially for individuals who want to progress their profession and increase their chances in the job market; it provides active query forums. It is cheaper compared to the traditional learning method. Firstly, individuals may feel tired after work and not want to attend regular classes; this makes online learning convenient. Distance learning allows individuals to take their courses in the comfort of their offices and homes, as they do not have to be physically present in class. Secondly, online learning provides active query forums that allow the tutors to chat and ask questions at any particular time. Tutors are also in a position to do more research on the internet without the pressure of limited time. In contrast, the classroom setting has limited time to accommodate other subjects. Thirdly, online learning is cheaper as it does not involve spending time and money to travel from home to school for lessons. The cost of accommodation is also less as learners can study from home. Despite the advantages of online learning, some people feel classroom learning that helps them interact with their teachers and fellow learners better. In a nutshell, distance learning may be more suitable and convenient for employed individuals who are seeking to build their profession. In contrast, in-class learning is more suited to younger people who are yet to join the workforce and need prior training.
