According to the assessment, I am a discovery learner because I enjoy a broad range of learning situations. I concur with the evaluation.

A person can personalize the learning experience with this learning style. Due to its explorative nature, learners can acquire information, some of which are unrelated to the topic. I prefer this learning style because it is challenging to forget information obtained during the learning process.

Discovery learners are innovative because they tend to come up with their ideas during the process. Companies with high demand for constant innovation should encourage this learning technique as it is traverse. Examples of such companies include; telecommunication companies, restaurants(need for new menus), construction(new ways to acquire building resources), and design companies that need to come up with new designs constantly.

People who are unable to memorize can easily understand things through this learning style. It motivates learners to read widely and understand as they can come up with different scenarios along the way.

Discovery learning is, however, time-consuming and requires flexibility in organizations. An experiment intended to last for three hours in other learning techniques might take up to six hours. An example is conducting questionnaires. An individual might stick to questions strictly provided, and another might deviate in order to know more about the person being questioned. This might highly inconvenience organizations.

In conclusion, discovery learning widens a learner’s thinking and understanding. It is better compared to other styles for long-term results.

Connection.

Discussed below is the connection of the assessment to learning styles.

An abstract idea is intangible but can be understood by the learner. The idea can be documented as evidence. It is developed from a series of events. People who depend on abstract conceptualization are known as assimilators.(Section 3-5b).

Some people enjoy studying in a group. I prefer studying as an individual because it helps me grasp concepts and move at my own pace. International learning can, however, be helpful as the learner gets new perspectives in certain areas. Different people have different ideas and have different levels of knowledge. During study groups, learners can acquire new information and people’s opinions (Section 3-5c).

Taking notes during a lecture is an effective learning technique. Some students take notes in order to use them for future references. Others understand better when they listen as they write. Taking notes also helps learners concentrate because they have to listen and be keen in order to note down important points. This learning style is known as structural learning. (Section 3-5c).

Some people prefer to see a demonstration of whatever they are learning. This enhances memory because it is easy for most people to remember what they see. Providing demonstrations also increase interaction in lectures. this learning style is known as observational learning. (Section 3-5c).
