Organization Strategy
Problem Facing the Organization
The organization is facing challenges with the strategy it is adopting.. The organization’s employees are divided into two. Part of the employees supports the current strategy. The other group thinks that modern technology should be employed to avoid the organization from being thrown out of the business due to increased online competition.
Advantages of Adoption of Technology as a Strategy
Technology gives room for convenience and accessible services providence. With the modern technology the organization is able to reach the target group easily as this makes its operations easier. Use of technology also enables the business to enlarge the target group. This is possible as the target group is not only found in one location. Technology hence improves the company’s chances to thrive and beat competition. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
Adoption of technology provides room for easy access by the clients as it is accessible at any time. Technology can be accessed at any point in time as it provides 24/7 service providence (Gitman, et al., 2018).Moreover no employee is required to work the whole day in order to operate the technology. Technology increases the chances of the company thriving as customers access it at their own convenient time and no overpay is paid to the employees.
The internet is a cheap method to implement as it has low operation cost. According to (Panetto, Debruyne, Proper, Ardagna, Roman, & Meersman, 2018) internet is an affordable strategy of operation because once the organization has put up its products and services provided on the internet, it will not have to put it up again. Also, as stated earlier, the organization is not required to pay any extra money or overpay to any employees.
Use of modern technology is a time-effective strategy. The employees will not have to use all their time doing the measurements or interacting with the customers face to face as all this can be done online (Baran & Galka, 2016). Employees are therefore able to focus on other things instead of having to deal on a personal level with costumers. The organization is able to improve itself and come up with new ideas as it has adequate time to do so.
Disadvantages of modern technology
Technology provides too many options for the customers. Since many organizations are embracing advanced technology as an approach, the customer has too many options to choose from. The customer may be faced by the challenge of what product to go with. He or she may opt to go with the products from different organizations. Too many options may lead to the company incurring loses if the target group opts to go with the other companies’ products.
Modern technology undermines social values (Biagioli, 2019). Employing advanced technology in an organization reduces the personal interaction between the employees and the customers. This undermines social values as friendships that might be established through interactions. Such friendships when established may enable the organization to get honest feedback about the service production and products offered. The customers will also be confident enough to recommend the organization to other people. Modern technology is a hindrance to face to face interaction. The organization should therefore adopt new technology as a strategy in the company’s operations.
