Its excessive use causes many problems relating to the personal health of a person, social and economic burden in communities(WHO, 2018). Similarly, the effects of alcohol use in excess harm other people such as family memberssince most of the deaths leave children orphaned and also strain a family financially.

Excessive alcohol use is a problem affecting almost 14.4 million adults of 18 years of age, with more men being affected than women. The data most probably would change the behavior of alcohol users (Ritchie & Roser, 2018). However, more compelling statistical data should become a warry and enable one to change and start reducing their daily alcohol consumption levels. In the country, the alcohol use disorder originating from excessive use of alcohol is the third leading preventable cause of death following from tobacco use and poor diet and physical inactivity. In the global aspects, the WHO accounts for a total of more than 200 diseases, and injury-related healthconditions caused excessive consumption of alcohol in the year 2014 alone. It accounts for the fifth leading premature deaths and disability risks with health complications (WHO, 2018) such as liver cirrhosis, cancers, and injuries as perthe directions of DSM-IV alcohol dependence(Ritchie & Roser, 2018). Consequently, most of the effects of drinking alcohol emerge from unintentional and intentional injuries from traffic crashes and also violent related.Even alcohol is considered an attribute to the increasing incidences of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and STIs.

However, there are many benefits of quitting the habit, and also the regular practice of excessive consumption have very detrimental consequences on a person. According to the center for disease control, excessive alcohol leads to alcohol poisoning, which claims almost six life daily. It is noted that a person who engages in excessive alcohol consumption loses a potential 30 years of possible life(WHO, 2018). Also, the person addicted to alcohol goes through relationship problems, encounters jobs, or even school-related problems causing financial issues and more complicated health problems. Almost 100000 people die annually due to drinking and driving and also create a threat to other people’slife..

Also, consumption of too much alcohol than the daily recommended level causes the body’s inability to process the excess alcohol in the blood leading to more complicated health issues and complications other than intoxication. It causes loss of motor coordination and also loss of consciousness and to instant deaths caused by one vomiting while unconscious causing suffocation. More threatening issues that result in death arise from the excessive consumption of alcohol. Leading to the damage of the liver resulting in a clinical disease called liver cirrhosis, cancer, inflammation of the pancreas, development of ulcers and gastrointestinal problems, brain damage, and also increases the risk of getting cancer and malnourishment and vitamin deficiencies(Ritchie & Roser, 2018). However, the enormous benefits of quitting binge disorder amount to the improvement of physical health, stability in the relationship, and finances. Also, work related, and school difficulties become a thing of the past.

The benefits ranging from personal health to the society and economic change should motivate one form quitting alcohol. Nevertheless, quitting drinking is not an easy thing considering the many problems involved in the withdrawal effects. The right attitude and determination levels sights towards the first initial steps of stopping alcohol consumption(Ritchie & Roser, 2018). Also, it is not advisable to stop alcohol at once though considerable measures in reducing intake should become enacted with professional help and behavioral change. However, there are various tested ways of treating alcoholism.

As there is no specific standard way since different people need a combination of approaches, behavioral and medication therapy approaches are commonly used in helping people stop drinking alcohol. Cognitive-behavioral therapy seeks to change one through counseling.Most studies, as highlighted in a 2009 Journal of studies on Alcohol and Drugs, statistically show the credibility of CBT in helping individuals overcome excessive alcohol consumption (Ritchie& Roser, 2019). Similarly, community inputs are needed with motivational and also the advice of avoiding bad influences and peer pressure.

Withdrawal effects people stopping alcohol face are hard to treat with the therapeutic approaches, and thus medication is needed to reduce the severe impact of the impact. An individual should seek help from doctors and physicians for the right administration of drugs such as benzodiazepines to ease the withdrawal effects. Consequently, all these methods depend on the right attitude towards change from an individual(Knopf, 2015).  Goodwill and dedication to changeshould prevail, and the addicted individual should stay away from all temptations of taking alcohol. By staying away from friends who become a negative influence and also find some activities to engage to take over the time they used to spend drinkings such as exercise and other related physical exercises and also participate in counseling and encouraging forums in the community.
