Briefly describe your short and long-term career goals.

    I am a student currently pursuing a course in early childhood I am first generation in college. My education and career goals include achieving a degree in early childhood education degree and taking care of children. My short-term career goal is to attain competency in early childhood education. This will help me in attaining my dream of serving the society by shaping the future generation, and this is through ensuring children get the very best foundation. My attainment of an academic award in early childhood education as my short-term goal will help in boosting my competency in this field.

On the other hand, my long-term career goal is to establish an early childhood center. This facility will offer training for those people who are passionate in working with children. Apart from that, the facility will also have a section for accommodating children while meeting their development needs. This goal of having an early childhood center for training and establishing a section for catering for the needs of the children will also help in attaining my dream of shaping the future.

How will receiving this scholarship help you reach your goals?

Receiving a scholarship to pursue early childhood education will serve a great deal in sharpening my skills on how to deal with children. The opportunity will help me interact with like-minded persons, and this will even make me learn new trends from such persons. Besides, there will also be the exchange of ideas in the course of my pursuance of this scholarship, whereby I intend to share my view on the importance of children, and how they can be used to determine the future.

Apart from that, the scholarship award will, with no doubt, help in ensuring that I am culturally competent. This is based on the fact that I will be able to mingle with fellow students and tutors from different cultural backgrounds. As a result, I will have a better understanding of other peoples’ cultures, and this will positively impact my career in the sense that I will be able to work with people from various cultures effectively.

            Xxxx is a person from a humble background who have always find passion for interacting with children. Before enrolling for this program, XXXX attained a mean grade of XXX in my high school studies. XXXX also possesses skills in XXXX, which will be instrumental in the course of pursuing this course. XXXX is known to be humble and likable by children given the previous interactions with such a group of persons. Her inner drive for taking care of children and enhancing their well being cannot be measured.  XXXX hopes to shape the next generation, and this is by ensuring that children have a stable foundation that will, in turn, facilitate this.

What impact will this scholarship have on your education?

This scholarship will impact my education by ensuring that I focus my energy on learning rather than on stressing on how to pay my tuition fee and other bills taken care of by it.

Why are scholarships important? And what does yours mean to you?

Scholarships are important as they help in relieving the biggest stressor that one can have in academics, the financial stress. This really means a lot to me, as it would have taken me a long time to save up for this course.

Personal statement.

One of my achievements is that of being a role model to children in my community. I have been able to inspire many children within my locality, and this has been evident whereby most parents have come to confirm to me that their children always mention my name in their homes. Given any small opportunity and chance, I prefer going to talk to the school-going children from all school grades. I always have a soft spot for children and get satisfied once I get to talk to them on matters affecting them. This has made me be regarded as the father of children in my community.

The other achievement that I have been able to attain is to initiate a mentorship programme in my local early childhood education center. In this case, I visited a local school within my community and advised the headteacher on the need to have a mentorship program for students. The mentors here were fellow students from within the school. What I was able to achieve, in this regard, was to have all the kindergarten students have a mentor from the upper classes. This mentorship program helped in improving the behaviors of the mentee in and out of school, and thus shaping the society. The mentorship program also helped in curbing the learning disability, and this was seen in terms of improvement in learning.

On the other hand, I have been able to be part of various activities in the society. One of these is being a donor to the children’s’ home. During my last vacation, I was able to mobilize for donations from well-wishers and took them to children’s home. This activity was so satisfying to me as it helped in assuring the needy children of their tomorrow. For instance, as confirmed by the management of the institution, some children did not know what they should put on and eat the days to come. With the donation in place, they could now get to see the days to come.
