This paper will explore the occurrence of cyberbullying in the virtual world and how technology has increased cyberbullying in the current generation.

To some people, cyber bulling has been both foreign and familiar. Due to the presence of many games that are played in virtual reality (VR), multi-playing is likely to cause harassment at some point during the play (Frank par. 3). This may because players failing to concede defeat. This type of harassment is hazardous, as it may result in mental suffering. It may trigger the mind of a tormentor to send death threats message to the other player. Virtual reality games may activate the mind of players to physical confrontations, which is even more dangerous. However, in virtual reality games, players can be protected by creating an opt-out tab, which enables a player to dismiss a game. This tab will send a report of an offending incident once a player opt-out a game.

In contemporary society, research shows that young people, both female and male, are similarly prone to be casualties of digital tormenting and also liable to be the culprits of cyber harassing. This act of digital harassing among young people has been said to be growing with age. There has been a great extent of youths who answered to have ever been digital harassed, as digital tormenting is getting progressively perilous among youngsters in the present age (Whittaker and Robin 18). Various schools across Australia are currently taking an interest in the National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence (NDA). This day targets finding a way of stopping cyber harassment. However, this is being thwarted by the idea that new online networking applications are being developed each day. This makes it harder because when attempting to handle one type of web-based harassing, then there rises another.

Recently, Instagram is being utilized as a device by digital harassers. This is the place a phony account is used to annoy victims. This fake account is known as ‘finsta.’ This is a mystery account on Instagram that people are utilizing to post an alternate substance from their official Instagram account that might be increasingly self-produced, commonplace, or uncovering. Along these lines, the domineering jerk uses this phony account name on Instagram to assault their companions secretly. Victims end up in pressure which most unfortunate casualties don’t reveal it to anybody. This will stay a mystery to the person in question and has a chance of influencing that person more to the degree of ailments like sorrow or additionally lead to death (Blackburn et al. 28).
