Impact of Technology in the Movie Making Industry

Technology has brought so many changes in the movie industry, just like other industries. These changes range from the way films are made to how they get delivered to their audience. Technology has simplified the work of those involved in movie-making processes due to the introduction of advanced equipment. The introduction of drones has made it easier to capture things at an aerial view, unlike before where the crew had to use aircraft to get aerial shots. Capturing aerial shots was a long and tedious job which would eventually lead to the production of poor quality images.

Today, the introduction of high-quality cameras has made it possible to capture more explicit images, unlike before, where audiences had to watch movies and films in black and white. Technology has made it possible to get high definition movies. Viewers no longer have to go to movie cinemas to watch the latest videos as they can download them from the comfort of their homes or even stream them whenever they want to.

Technology in the film industry has also raised ethical issues. Due to the availability of movies online, people can download them and make copies then, later on, sell them, thereby violating the rules of copyright. This unauthorized duplication of videos makes it challenging to identify the real owners of given films.

In conclusion, technology has not only brought benefits to the movie industries, but it also has some drawbacks. Some of the disadvantages include the rapid change of technology as one cannot tell how long a person would use a piece of equipment before it is out of date. Acquisition of new material is, in turn, costly to those in the film industries.
