Climate Crisis
Abstract
Currently, the greatest threat to humanity is global warming. The population of humans continues to increase, predisposing humanity to dire consequences that call for fundamental changes in the behavior. Therefore, instantaneous rapid action and response are necessary. Today, the changes in climate advocates pose a significant threat to the civilization of humanity. The solution to the predicament involves building Zero emissions.
The current Path by warming ranges at 30 or more, excluding chronic carbon cycle response. Scientists estimate that the Paris path will cause approximately 50 of global warming by 2100. The consequences of the existential risks posed by global warming are so severe that they cannot be generally interpreted (Sprat et al., 7). The impacts of this kind of adverse global warming include a fall in some ecosystems and a decrease in water availability that affects up to two billion people. Generally, the change in the climate will disrupt human’s perception of nature.
Carbon Majors Database (CMD) is a source used for storing (GHG) emissions data. According to CMD, the extraction of fossil fuel significantly influences the emissions of operational and product GHG. Investor involvement affects the activities and making of decisions of large oil and gas companies. Therefore, the investors can reduce the risk of carbon by compelling organizations to perform activities such as conducting the 1.5 to 20C analysis, among other requirements. Companies that specialize in fossil fuel can lead the change by decreasing the amount of emissions during their operations, using light fossil fuels, participating in developing the CCUS, and other that may involve carbon offsetting (Griffin and P., 12). In conclusion, fossil fuel companies should position themselves and participate in understanding and their probable role in the transformation of the industry.
