One of the incidents that relate to the story of Louisa Picquet is a case of a Nigerian woman who had escaped sexual bondage in Italy. The women were 32years and had been enslaved for five years in a Nigerian prostitution ring in the raffish Mediterranean port city, which is located 22kilometres south of Caserta, Italy. Just like thousands of women who work as prostitutes in Italy, she has been living in a nightmare. A significant number of the women had come from outside Italy according to the UN office on drugs and crime. Besides, according to a study by the community of Pope John XXIII, this is one among the many church organization’s helping people who are in the ragged edge of society, third of the women came to the nation as minors who were traded for sex by their master following their belief in nipple connections. Catholic nuns came in as pivotal to save those seeking an escape to stable life from the trade, which it’s outright slavery.

As evidenced by the story of Louisa Picquet, slavery has engaged manipulation of the religion to make it okay where both the master and the slaves share the belief that that is how it’s supposed to be. The people of color in the case of Louisa and also in the incident of the Nigerian women who are perceived to be poor are supposed to be slaves to white as per the incidences. Such a belief has been extracted from the scripture in reference to the case of Israelites who had been slaves in Egypt for decades until they were rescued by Moses. The selling of human beings was seen as a normal practice by the whites.

The slaves seemed to be okay with it. They had nothing to sustain themselves but to depend on their masters. These can be evidenced with a state of picquet. She has to raise funds upon being freed to get back to her mother.  A similar reason had landed the Nigerian women into sexual slavery in Italy as she escaped poverty in her mother country.  Besides, a significant number of those found in the streets of Italy were either sold or fled from their homeland in search of better pastures. In both cases, they share the belief that God’s will for them to undergo such difficulties under the slavery institutions.

The incident has had significant psychological effects on the women, and she collogues. First of all, it exposes to the distinct stigma that surrounds the spectrum as it links sexuality with pain, humiliation, and display of power instead of romance and tenderness, which is commonly meant by the public. Even with the previous culture, they acknowledged that the use of mental and physical pain plays in the sexual context more as compared to the case of western societies. The practice, while led to the incident, is perceived to be socially and mentally wrong as it is associated with non-consensual violence. Besides, stigma is found to be higher in the women who are sexually emancipated in the incident, and some of the women experienced assault and discrimination following their practice.

They are not questioning even when being sold to a foreigner to engage in sexual activities for money simply because they are just but slaves who are supposed to be submissive to their masters. In such aspects, it becomes clear that human beings have lost their consent and forgot that no one should be submissive to another as we are all equal in the face of the lord.  The masters who are perceived as small gods have positioned themselves in place of God and use it to justify slavery of any kind. Just as the lord is supposed to be served, the masters expect similar treatment from their slaves. For a long time, such culture has been built since the time of Moses of the scripture to date.

Also, the people involved in the incident have suffered from instilled in them by the masters.   As it can be observed, the Nigerian woman, upon realizing she had been tricked into going to Italy, she had no option but rather to obey the lady who had brought her to the new nation. This emanated from her plane ticket debt, food cost, and her rent being held, and she had to bring euros from the streets by road work where they had sold their bodies to acquire the cash. The suffering extended from her room to the streets. She becomes pregnant to a man whom she thought was to help her and after she had to leave the baby and go back to the streets to bring more money for her master. As she acclaims everywhere she went, she was full of fear as barriers presented themselves one after the other.
